Thanks, I am sure you will be getting some questions from me, I started this thread so I could stop hijacking your other thread 

I have been running into issue after issue. First, I got the cutout printouts done at FedEx Office. The prints had some lines cut off I worked with it though. Then, I bought a Dremel Trio, hoping it would cut better than a JigSaw, wrong... Then I used a jigsaw, and I SUCK with that. Only after I did all the cutting did I think of just measuring the lengths so I could just use a circular saw 

Anyway, after figuring out some of the measurements (just the rectangular pieces), I re cut those pieces with a circular saw, much better. Here is how it looks so far:

I tried fitting my 22" Chimei LCD since I can't find the Samsung 214t anywhere. It is much narrower and a little longer (possibly too long). It is about 19.5 inches and it looks like I only have about 19 inches to work with. I may be able to finagle some of the cuts to squeeze it in there and then modify the bezel art so it looks right. Otherwise, I may keep looking for a 214t.

On a side note, I already have almost $500 into this build (with my own LCD) and I still need the acrylic, laminate, and graphics. Speaking of graphics, I sent a couple of messages to Game on Grafix, and still have received no response. I contacted another place and got back to me with a full quote of about $140 (pre-laminated).

I thought it was going to be super easy, just connect the harness to the 60 n 1 board, plug the monitor into the board and plug it into the power supply, and power it up (of course connect the buttons and stuff too).

I will do some more searching on the forums as I am sure other people have had the same question, but I wanted to post it here too.

You just have to use a molex hd power connector that will mate with your 60 in 1 for power.   It is wired for 5V 12V and ground from your arcade supply.  The arcade supply needs ac power and a ground for the AC not the DC ground.

You can wire the power supply into the JAMMA harness or into a Molex connector that plugs into the 60-in-1 board.  Either will work.  Plugging in the power supply should power things on, unless you wire in a switch (which I would recommend, if you know how to do it.)

This is for Sshado, but I suppose everyone could learn from it: that key is not enforced in most JAMMA harness edge connectors.  Making the connector fit on the board is not enough to know that it is connected properly.  Those connectors are very low precision in that it is possible to seat the connector on the board upside down or even in a way the connector pins can bridge connectors on the board.  You must take care to seat it properly and look at it fairly closely to make sure it's aligned properly.

I can't tell you how many boards and fuses I've seen fry because care was not taken to connect harnesses to boards.  The newer JAMMA standard eliminates this using properly keyed connectors, but is pretty rarely seen, in my experience.

So, take care.  After you've done it a few times you'll get adept at it and you'll be able to tell at a glance if it's plugged in properly, but for now take care.  The 60-in-1 is an inexpensive board but you don't want to fry it out of haste.

yeah this harness is not the highest quality harness i've seen.  they're certainly inexpensive, and for most people they are good enough, but they're not the best harnesses out there.

Don't forget the Ground (or Field Ground (FG)).  Also check your power settings.  Are you in the states?  Looks like it if defaulted to 220v!

Sorry I missed this. I clipped away all the unused wires. I just tapped my fans to the 12v line on the switched power supply, same with my LEDs

Yes, I have been searching high and low for the Samsung 214t 21.3" display. My 22" ChiMei is a tad too long. It has been a small part of my stall on building this. If anyone has one for sale, let me know. Only the screen needs to be in perfect shape.

I did find someone selling this Planar PX212M 21.3" LCD monitor with virtually all the same specs as the Samsung 214t. Only slightly longer and narrower for $100.

1) How did you hold everything together, from the pics it looks like L-brackets.
2) The L piece on the inside, is the length supposed to reach the grill panel? I ask, because I followed your template and they don't reach...

It seems like it should reach so that the grill panel could connect to it.

To answer your questions,

2 - Yes it should, probably my mis-measurement, I think I just filled the gap with some bubblegum and an old boot lace (and you guys thought my builds were well thought out...fools!!!!!!!  )

Picked up the monitor and it fits perfectly Laminate came already, so I laminated the sides and routed the t-slots. Hopefully tomorrow I can work on the control panels and the grill panels. I can't work on the angled piece for the coin and start buttons until I either get a 30 / 60 Chamfer bit or borrow a friends table saw - I think that is going to be the toughest part of this build

Unless it's a super accurate tablesaw I wouldn't bother, you'd be better off with a circular saw and clamped guide. Although adding a 60/30 Chamfer to your collection of router bits is always a good investment.

These days I never use my table saw, I'd rather clamp up a guide and use either a router, circular or more often than not a jigsaw, I can cut within 1mm tolerance with a jigsaw over a pretty decent distance so my need for a table saw is usually reduced to quick rips of long stems

Yesterday, I bought a new jigsaw. I get home, excited to get my template cut out so I can router the speaker grills and the damn thing didn't come with a blade 

I won't be able to get any work on it until this weekend. Oh well, getting close, hoping to post more images Sunday. I would have posted more during the build, but I figure you all seen it already through the original build...

Heh, funny. I reversed the picture because I was trying to avoid you pointing out that the power inlet was in the wrong spot (it actually isn't, I just need to flip the side panel) ... I will re-reverse the picture

I used clear because I didn't want the colors in the bezel artwork to be altered by the acrylic color as they are so close in proximity to the side art.

Those feet look nicer than the ones I used just make sure they have some kind of grip to them.

There's about 1/4" bleed but I wouldn't say that's much room for adjustment

I cut my plastics with a router, just set up a straight edge clamped down tight and run the router across it for a perfect smooth cut. If you want the edges of the acrylic to be glassy you can flame-polish them with a butane torch, look that up on YouTube for some videos showing you how.

OK, I also ordered the service and test buttons along with the handles. I plan on having both fans blow in and then the handles act as vents. Total cost is now $725.

Cool glad the router worked out. I screwed the bottom to the interior frame with brass screws, they look nice against the black laminate

The amp I bought from amazon just had wire terminals so I attached them easily like that... I think, hard to remember now. The service buttons are part of that Jamma Harness, one called test and one called setup.

Hmmm, I looked at your Jamma wiring map and it doesn't snow anything for test or setup. I also looked at the board and don't see a direct connect:

There you go, 15 parts side is the switch line for 'test' and 14 solder side is the switch line for 'service', just ground the other side of the switches and they will work

Thanks guys Hoping to get this finished this week, just waiting for some supplies to show up. Been working on my miniature (4 foot) arcade that I started 10 years ago and never finished in the meantime (miniature version of my first arcade).

Quick update, control panels are done and just finished the base. For the base, added the service and test buttons, added the handles, and added the custom pink feet (they will also have pink LED's). Just missing the serial plate (hint, hint Corybee) 



Also been finishing up my mini arcade, it is 4 feet tall. Just waiting for my marquee and coin door so I can finish it up:

This may be a little late but I've attached a PDF with a bunch of JAMMA labels that you can print out and stick either side of the plug to make it much easier to identify the pins. Not mine, I found it over on KLOV

Thanks, I bought some of the "deluxe" wiring harnesses and they are similar.

Strange thing about them is that they have tilt wired up and not coin 2 - I had to change it.

Anyway, those will come in handy for my future projects

I gotta say that this build is a ---smurfette---!! Maximus made it look easy. There are so many little tweaks here and there that need to be considered while building it. I am planning on finishing this up this weekend and will have a couple of pictures.

It is such a pain in the ass that I can't wait to be done...

Lol, I must admit it is a very tightly packed unit, there's a lot going on under the hood, but when you finish it you'll have a blast playing it, and I'm sure your friends will too.

A couple of issues I hooked up the speakers to the amp and I am getting a humming noise? I also do not have the pink dustwashers in due to them being see through and can see my misaligned joystick holes, but I do have the pink LEDs in there...

Also, I am going to have to replace the bezel as I ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- it up   

Here are a couple of pictures of how it sits currently. The glowing feet look cool from the bottom, can't see it in the carpet, but you can see a glow on solid floors. I also still have to connect the button LED's.

Nice man I think it looks fanstastic!! The glowing feet are a nice touch. WIth the speakers and amp, make sure you dont have the speaker wires running directly next to power wires, that's probably where your hum is coming from, also crank up the volume in the game settings on the 60-in-1 board so you dont have to turn the amp up as high, this will also eliminate ground hum.

Looks like you are almost done, it's weird seeing a clone of mine looking so complete, but a huge compliment that someone else liked it enough to go through the expense and trouble to make one.

Yes, thank you, I had a little problem with the screws stripping, so I ended up using some finishing nails. I took a picture last night, but it turned out too dark, I will take one tonight and post a final pic.
