So a local vending company closed up shop about a year ago, and left behind some neglected cabs. Including Blitz Football, Mortal Kombat, Simpsons, 4-cart Neo Geo, an oversized Neo Geo, Maximum Force, House of Dead, and Soul Edge. Most of them have been robbed of their boards, except MK, HoD, and Soul Edge. These 3 cabs are complete, but need repaired in some form or another.

House of Dead's player 2 gun is non-functioning and the monitor's left side is dim. The gun I can probably trial-and-error myself, but my question is in regards to the monitor. The brightness drops off towards the left side of the screen. Would a recap fix this or does it probably need a new monitor?

Soul Edge, I was told, only needs a new PSU. I didn't have to opportunity to plug it in, so I can't verify. What is the easiest way to track down a working PSU for this? Do I need to pull the back off to get some #'s off the existing one?

Mortal Kombat, well, has some problems I'm not sure I even want to try and mess with. When it's plugged in, the distinct smell of burning electrical components becomes pretty obvious. Is there any way to pull the board and test it in one of the other cabs to see if that is worth saving? I've heard of jamma but have no idea if pulling one jamma board and installing into another jamme cabinet it even feasible. So any recommendations is appreciated.

As far as the others, most of them are pretty beat up. The pic below of the Neo Geo is an accurate representation of the current state of most of these cabs. There is about an inch of dust over them and several have water damage. Only maybe 1 or 2 would even be worth trying to mame. BTW, I've never seen a Neo Geo like the one below. Can anybody share some light on this particular model?

HOTD's monitor probably just needs some caps changed it wouldn't hurt to replace them. otherwise, the gun probably has a broken solder joint or leg on the sensor. (as that's the most common issue)

soul edge...well just look at the power supply and get another one. simple as that. it could be anything in there right now. you could probably even hack an AT power supply of some kind on there to see if the rest of the system works first before committing to buying the real deal.

mortal kombat is JAMMA so you should be able to pop it into another cabinet just to see if it works. Mortal kombat is standard resolution, so you must be sure that the cabinet has a standard resolution monitor to test. (P.S. your house of the dead machine is medium resolution and also not jamma) Likely the monitor is fried. it will probably take some work to get going again probably not impossible though. (unless the monitor board is burned up) maybe the power supply in the game is fried.

your neo-geo looks like some kind of conversion. not really sure. It was likely purchased as an upgrade kit and put into that cabinet.
