This is one of those Rose Colored Glasses kinds of things.
Way back in my youth, my school had an Apple IIe (maybe) with big 'ol 5 1/4" floppies. The kids would sign their name up for allotted time on the computer. Some things that I recall was that the screen was in black & white which mystified me as to why anyone would want a boring paint program. The floppies were prone to destruction at the hands of K through 3. And it was definitely some type of Apple as one of the games was a "catch the apple in the bin" which involved pressing the open and closed apple keys as a conveyer belt carried your apples.
Now to the game. I have a vague recollection that the game appeared to be very close to Lode Runner in terms of view point and level design. There were two characters (black and white?) both sporting a pointy hat. As a kid, I always took this to mean that the characters were of
Asian origin though I doubt this was the case. The characters could leap off an edge and the hat was used to "float" down to the next level. I have no recollection as to what the goal to the game was as I couldn't read yet and probably why I can't recall the title.
That's about it. Unfortunately, early in my school career, that particular disk met an untimely death at the hands of another student cramming the disk wrong way in. After that, I lost interest in the Apple IIe as none of the other disks were of anything of note to a 5 or 6 year old. It wasn't long after that that the IIe disappeared, never to return again.
Any idea what it was?
