Game Commercials
« on: March 06, 2013, 03:39:33 pm »
Was browsing some commercials i remember as a kid, found one of Pacman arcade...well this one isn't really a commerical, showing the factory making the cabinets. The haircuts of teens from 1981 alone i found amusing.

Man here I was thinking I was getting too old to still be in this hobby.

In 1982 I would have been 4.  ;)

Dude, you're more an 80s baby. Whereas the majority of 80s game collectors were in late grade school to early high school in 82.

I remember PM Magazine. Neat Pac video. Note the board label.

One of my favourites that I remember was being shown either before Wrath of Khan or ET in the cinemas.

If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

I don't recall Dig Dug being licensed by Atari.

Dig Dug was an Atari game.

Thought it was Namco, licensed by Atari.

It was a Namco game.  It's odd if they licensed it to Atari though.  At this point in history they were mostly throwing their games at Midway.  Until the fallout..... Yes curse Midway for developing the most popular Pac-man ever, they was really awful of them.

Namco may have written the software.

Look at the cabinet.  Look at the artwork on the cabinet.  Look at the 2600, 5200, and 7800 cartridges.  It was produced under the Atari label in all cases.

For all intents and purposes other than cabinet conversion class that's an Atari game.   ;D
