I want to build my own arcade controls!
Slowdown games using soft15

Hello!!
I'm using windows 7 x64 with a hd4850 and soft15.
Windows run in 15hz, but when i try emulators 3d games have slowdown.
I have tested mame (games like tekken tag and psx 3d games), model 3, model 2 and all have several slowdown and choppy sound.
Demul only runs ok.
In monitor computer everything runs ok.
What could it be?
Thank you very much.

If you're using Soft15kHz, are you using directdraw for native res in MAME? If so, it's much more demanding than Direct3d, so the slowdown is normal. You either need a faster processor, or do some compromising with Direct3D for problem games. Sorry.

I have found problem. I had to disable v-sync and tripple buffer in all emulators and catalyst control center!

I have the exact same hardware than you do in every way so will try this. I'm running MAME .140 so what are the d3d compromises to expect if I go that route?

I really don't know what causes the slowdowns but 3d games run very very slowly.
I must disable v-sync and tripple buffer, and games run good in that case, but have several problems wich games like taito typex, because the launcher don't have graphics options and i can't disable it. Example: kof mi runs very very slowly!!
Maybe somebody can tell us where are the problem.

What resolution you run the games at?
Interlaced resolutions on ATI can force you down to 30Hz.

In mame i put auto in resolution and in model 2 or model 3 800x600, but always you active v-sync or tripple buffer, slowdown, but the game shows correctly, only very slow.

800x600 will be 50Hz, and with that ATI bug either 50FPS or 25FPS instead of 60.
Try 640x480 for model2

Thanks for your reply. This bug only affects ati cards? is there any way to repair it?
I have tried with the house of the dead 3 pc game, and same slowdown. I put resolution to 640x480 and same slowdown. Pc games always slowdown...
