GPS watches...anyone have one?
« on: December 03, 2012, 05:28:12 pm »
I've been looking for a new watch. I stumbled on a few at REI yesterday and they seem usefull. Some are runners watches and others are more outdoorsy(with altitude, barrometer and compass). Anyone have one of these watches, or other hi end multifunction watch?

i have this thing which tells time.

seriously, i did at one time have a watch that did all sorts of cool things (temperature etc.)

problem is...it accurately told me the conditions inside of my coat sleeve.  :dunno

It was more of a gimmick than useful.

Download an app for your smart fone to do all that nonsense.  If you're heading into a Warzone or some parts of Alabama I'd get a Garmin Foretrex.  I've used them for real world military operations across a few continents and you can't go wrong.  Well, you can still get lost, but that'd be your fault.
