How to measure radius?
« on: September 28, 2012, 07:26:58 pm »
Hey everyone

I'm trying to flush mount a happ 4 speed shifter into a panel and i'm wondering how can i measure the radius of the corners to get the shifter plate to sit perfectly into the panel. The shifter is this one http://na.suzohapp.com/driving/50849600e.htm. Is there some kind of tool to measure radius? Do i just eyeball it?

Thanks
Mike

The drawing says that the corner radius is .13"

Or are you talking about something else?

I think last time I did something that small, I just penciled it then went through my drill bits until i found one that fit and drilled the corners first. Came out OK.

Damn...I've used CDs, quarters, my tire pressure gauge.  Whatever I can find.  HAHAHA.

use a square

If you put a square on the corner, the measurement of the gap is the measurement of the radius.
