Old Navy Amazing Photo Sticker Machine
« on: September 24, 2012, 07:26:24 pm »
Does anyone here have any knowledge of the Old Navy Amazing Sticker Machine?

I'm planning on building a photobooth for my daughter (school events, parties, etc) and came across an Old Navy Amazing Photo Machine for sale and was thinking that I could convert in to print photos. Is this feasible? The guy wants $200 for it and I'm awaiting word from him if it's fully functional.

It's either this or a scratch build. Any ideas if the Old Navy machine is worth it as a starting point?

No idea but I think it would be pretty easy to mod, even if you have to junk the innards and throw in a old PC.  I'd say $200 is probably a fair price if the monitor and camera work.  That is just itching for some cool custom art.

I'm with Chuck. I'd love to see what could be done with this.

I'm the cheapest man on the planet, and even I think that 200 bucks is a steal for a photobooth.

The reason is, to build a photobooth from scratch you need:

A shell
A monitor
A pc
A digital camera/webcam capable of being controlled via said pc.
A control panel with big old buttons
A printer, preferably a specialized photo printer
Software capable of seemlessly pulling all of that junk together in an attractive and easy to use way.

The concept of a photobooth is pretty simple, but actually doing it is deceptively complex.
