Holy crap man!  He was really young to die of something like that.

He was one of my favorite actors.  I know he went over to Scotland with Craig Ferguson for the Late Late Show this summer and he seemed fine then.  I think that was late June, so he must have had the heart attack soon after.

I was actually enjoying 'The Finder', too.  Not great, but a fun show..  I enjoyed watching him in pretty much everything I saw him in..  RIP.

He was great in most anything he did.  One of my favorite character actors.  My personal favorite was "The Whole Nine Yards".   His scenes with Matthew Perry were hilarious.

Wow.

Makes you think it's time to book that long delayed physical with the doctor.

How sad.

I always liked his deep belly laugh.  Seemed so genuine.  Was interesting to hear Michael Bay's thoughts on him and how his first day on set he was just horrible.

Na. You just have to keep physical.

Says he was 325 pounds! (Perhaps from eating all that tofu...) Not in this picture:

But, yeah, I remember reading there's a genetic link to men of that ethnicity and heart disease.

Black people in particular are at super high risk for high-blood pressure, heart disease, sickle cell anemia, ect.  Basically anything related to the blood or the heart, they are at risk.

Even if you aren't black, a physical is never a bad idea.  A regular physical is highly reccomended to anyone over the age of 40 with familial history of heart disease, earlier if you have something like a heart murmor or similar heart defect.  I'm only 32, I've had 3 already.

I get a physical once a year with an "in-between" checkup once a year also. Never understood why people wouldn't perform routine maintenance on their body like they do with their cars. Early detection = usually fixable, late detection not so much... One of the reasons men die earlier than women on average is we're too stupid as a gender to go to the doctor.

I personally know two people that were killed by colonoscopies.

One, I don't believe you in the slightest. Two, Even if true, statistically insignificant.

Want to put $1,000 a name on it?  Think carefully.  I may embellish, I do not lie.

Heh. No. I still don't believe you. You have a remarkable number of statistically improbable things happen in your life. You should play the lottery.

I have an immediate family member that recently died of colon cancer that she was told outright by an oncologist would have been caught and mitigated if detected during routine exams.  She died an ugly, early death, and it was completely unnecessary.

Friend's grandmother had colon cancer that went untreated because the family doctor said "it was caused by unnatural sex, probably anal, and I wanted to spare your family the embarrassment."  In his mind - once people in his care hit about 55, they've lived long enough.

Now you are just flat out making ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- up...

A comment like that from a doctor, following a death in which obvious cancer was not disclosed, would lead to the largest malpractice settlement in the history of Earth.

After watching someone die of colon cancer I'll gladly bite a stick and deal with the exam.  Whatever it takes to avoid ending up like that.
