I stripped off the old T-Molding on a cabinet I am rebuilding. I had ordered new molding in a wonderful color to contrast with the paint on the rest of the cab. New mold comes in, tab is way to small for existing slot that the old mold came out of.
I've looked around the boards and lots of folks recommend using hot glue in the slot. I intend to pre-heat the mold to soften it up. I'll set it in the sun - its 115 degrees here. Here's the question... What about contact cement? If I contact cement the edge of the panels and the underside of the mold, shouldn't that work?
I only ask because I've got lots of contact cement and not much hot glue.

Ideas? Suggestions? Derogatory familial comments?
