Sorry, I missed this post earlier.
I have noticed the same thing and after doing some searching on the forums over time, this issue does seem to pop up from time to time. I have seen it occur in Pole Position and Xybots but also on some non Atari games. Switching to a different game also seems to make the problem go away.
The best short term solution that seems to work well is to degauss the monitor while in the game that is having issues. Seems that once I do that, I am good to go for a while. You can find it cheaper elsewhere but here is link for what worked for me:

Don't know if it is time, degaussing, or both that has resolved that one. The right side is still somewhat of an issue.
I haven't had time to look into it further but the next step I am going to take is to look at the resolution of those specific games and see what they are running at. By chance, are you running AVRes or using an ArcadeVGA? Also, can you post a list of games that you are having this issue? Looking for some common traits to work with.
As far as monitors go, there really aren't many other options out there from a new perspective....especially in that size.
