PS360+ PCBs
« on: June 19, 2012, 07:10:47 am »
Look what arrived yesterday in the mail. (2) PS360+ PCBs.   :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

I only placed the order in March 2011   ;D
Hopefully when work slows down I can build a really nice set up with these.
Anyone else stuck around and kept their pre-order?

You done got made obsolete, Haruman.

Pretty much...  aside from the occasional person who wants DC controllers hacked, things have been a bit slow.

On an unrelated note, I just hacked 2 NES, 2 SNES, 2 Genesis, and 2 TurboGraphx controllers for a guy out in Cali.   :dizzy:

No idea how much or how to get one... they were just pre-orders.

No worries Haruman, I'll still get DC and XBOX 1 hacks off you! Besides, you've got what, a year or 2 before the next consoles are out. I'm sure there will be an influx of hacking research for you then ;)

I got mine at canadianjoysticks, a local guy here in Vancouver. I'm not sure where else is importing them; I would have assumed that Focusattack would have done so, but it looks like they're not.

there is no research lol..all pads are pretty much the same

surprised I didn't jump on the pad haxing business. but I am fairly busy with other things. maybe I will if/when there is demand for new console pads or whatever :burgerking:

anyway $50 for this thing is good imo. it has led options too. I am thinking about building a lexan case or something. or at least some kind of lighted artwork.

well someone has to verify it works with dreamcast and xbox1 converter.

"universal" pcbs didn't work with converters before. like those madcatz universal sticks for ps2/xbox/gc never worked with dreamcast or pc/usb converters. jmike post your result if you have any converters.

also if you send me one of these I will gladly do those artworks for your cocktail cabinet ;)

I don't have a DC or XBOX1 converter adapter, but I do have a Gamecube one that I can test out. Worked like a charm before, so we'll see...

Well we'll see what the "new" controllers are like.  I have this feeling that touch interfaces are not going to go away any-time soon... as much as I wished they did.

Sorry guys, I don't have any converters to work with. These things are suppose to be compatible with just about everything. They'll even have a headset adapter. I got them from Focusattack.com. According to Jaleel they'll have a little over 100 PCBs left after the pre-orders are sent out.

I'll have to pass on the artwork exchange for one of these Snaake.  ;D

yeah you should just write up a guide on how to solder xbox360 controlers so we dont have to buy through your monopoly! oh wait.....

PBJ, you upset Haruman didn't pack your ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- tight enough?

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Same here. I came close to canceling my order a few times, and resorting to the paewang boards. But I'm glad I didn't now that they're finally shipping!

I've got my Jamma box to upgrade, and an empty Qanba Q3 joystick case ready to throw these into.

Just a quick update for anyone looking to purchase these PCBs. They'll be available again starting this Saturday (7/14) at focusattack.com, here the link

http://www.focusattack.com/akishop-ps360-multi-console-joystick-pcb/

Be aware they claim to have only 200 units available.

I don't mind really...I've stock piled enough of these USB cables over the years of buying electronics that I don't need anymore.

That and I ended up utilizing the alternate USB points on the board, soldered to a USB pass-through for my joystick and JAMMA BOX (also contains a UVC). I'm loving these boards!

Here's a pic of my joystick:

The black wire is the USB pass-through mount cable. Soldered a JST header to the board, easy-peasy.

It's a Qanba Q3 case, got it for $60 and filled it with extra parts I had available.

All-wood construction, very nice finish, and very solid.
Got the stock art on currently, but I'm working on something that'll replace it. ;)

Thought about getting one of those Qanba sticks a while back, but the buttons seem really close to the joystick. How comfortable is it?

The buttons and joystick is in the standard Sega layout used in Astro City's, Blast City's, etc. (except for the additional row of buttons at the end). But it's the same spacing as my Candy cabinet panels.
I find it comfortable myself, but those with bigger hands might not.

So, could I run this through a kvm and have a mame pc and xbox 360 in the same cabinet?
Yup.
