Kortek k3414-df monitor chassis / pcb
« on: March 11, 2012, 06:37:56 am »
Hi to all on this forum!
Let me introduce myself!
My name is Theo, and im from the Netherlands.
Im currently rebuilding a pump it up gx and im getting into trouble with my screen...

Im looking for a chassis for my kortek 3414df screen. The complete pcb is missing from this machine and kortek doesnt supply anything anymore.
I tried happ and suzo but no luck..

Anyone that has a spare chassis / pcb?? Could be a 2914df as well as it seems that the 3414 is a modified 2914...

Any help would be welcome!

Thanks and best regards from the Netherlands

Theo

i know a rodotron 666a fits a kt2914f as i have fitted one recently, not sure if it would run the 34" tube though
the rodotron is 15/24/31khz only whereas the kortek goes upto 48k i believe

rodotron 666a,wei ya 3129a,sanwa 29es31s,sanwa pm1755 will all fit the kt2914f tube/yoke combo

to be sure you would need to read the horizontal and vertical windings of your deflection yoke for impedence and inductance values

The 3414DF has only a few changes from a 2914DF.  I have a schematic if you'd like to compare the two.  You could certainly make it work if you were willing to swap out a few parts.

IIRC, the yoke is rather different from a 2914, so you'll need to meter the inductances if you plan to install a generic chassis.

Thanks MonMotha.

I will keep on searching for a 3414 pcb.. i think this will be the best.
If anyone has any idea where to get one i will be more than happy!

Kind regards

Let me guess, you have an Andamiro Pump it Up GX cabinet? (Or perhaps the nearly identical In The Groove 2 dedicated cabinet)

AFAIK, the KT-3414DF was a special model made just for that purpose at request of Andamiro.  The PCB is indeed a KT-2914DF (a fairly common monitor sold, amongst others, by Betson) with a few component tweaks.  The only people I know of who have any info on the 34" version is Andamiro.  They may be able to sell you a full replacement PCB set, but it won't be cheap.  The tubes are of course no longer available, which is why that cabinet went EOL.

Yep, Andamiro.
I tried to email them , but no reaction up to now.
Its in theire part lists but no price at all...

And still... if anyone has something... let me know!

Thanks Theo

VGA 640x480, but the monitor in question also supports SVGA 800x600 (in fact, it should do 15-38k, but I don't know if that's really well tested - the conversion from 29" to 34" is somewhat haphazard).  There was another monitor used in older Pump It Up GX cabinets (never in In The Groove) that was analog and only did VGA.

That's funny considering that monitor was sold by them between ~2005-2007.  So 7 years ago would be roughly the BEGINNING of that monitor's lifecycle.

Anyway, it's essentially a KT-2914DF (sold by Betson, amongst others) with some components changed and a different tube.  If you can get your hands on a donor KT-2914DF chassis, you can likely scavenge a bunch of parts from that.  Just be mindful of the differences between the two.  Aside from possibly the flyback being different, I think all the components that are different should be readily sourced (resistors, caps, etc.).
