Change the buttons to green too and I'll bet no one would ever notice.

Do you have the designs for this cab?  Would you be willing to share them?

Who did the artwork, I am wanting to do a bigger version of TMNT and would love to get the artwork or purchase from the person who did it.

Yeah, that's really nice.  Was going to say it needs coin slots, but realized the kids would probably make a mess of em.  You'd be finding tokens in the strangest places, haha.

That's a great looking cab! That's how you do a four-player panel. :applaud:

Very cool looking mini-tmnt! I love the size!
And I love love love that it's running off an original board!

Are you planning on doing anything else to it? I ask because there are a few things that seem unfinished to me.
Looks like it could use a bezel (unless you're happy with seeing the Dell monitor frame -- personally I find it unsightly).  How about t-molding?  And what's going on with that exposed piano hinged front area on the Control Panel? That can't be comfortable.

This cabinet is absolutely perfect for the kids to enjoy!
I'd just love to see some things tightened up in the construction. Overall, it's wonderful.

Hmm, why not use a small CRT TV for the display.  You could find one free on Craigslist and it would look way more authentic that way.  I know it's lighter and the kids don't care, but I'm picky like that.

What are you using to upscale the video and get it running on that monitor?

If you won't put in an old TV you should at least run the video at 604x448 or the closest thing possible to double the native res, 640x480 will look decent if that's the only option.  That way you can use an SLG-3000 for some decent scanlines.

It still needs T-molding, 1 purple balltop for player 3, a cardboard bezel and the control panel is getting rebuilt to be a few inches longer in the front to cover the hinge. Consider it a temp control panel for the moment, the whole cab was rushed together in a week before Christmas. As soon as I get the purple ball top, the control panel is getting redone. The control panel will also be getting a piece of plexi over the overlay.  With work and classes, the time just won't be there until May.

The art, I found at Aussie Arcade and printed at Fedex Office.
The cabinet plans are the Jakobud TMNT cab plans, just scaled down to 60% scale.

Currently just using a RGB to VGA converter board I picked up on JammaBoards.com, I didn't have enough room at that scale to put an actual CRT (tv or arcade) in it. The monitor is a 19in Dell lcd (4:3) I picked up at Goodwill for next to nothing.

The rest...one big order from Bob Roberts and a TMNT pcb.

Total $$ into this cab, about $400. Over half of the cost was printing the artwork.

If I can find a cheaper source for art, I plan to do a Xmen this summer.

Also... It is heavy. Between the frame at the bottom and the MDF used for everything else. I'd say it probably weights close to 100 lbs.
If I had the room for a CRT in there, I can't imagine how heavy it would be then.

Biggest issue it has is the RGB to VGA board, as it doesn't seem to save the settings.
I put it in English and set the resolution I want and next boot it is back in Chinese and default resolution.
But my 2 yr old doesn't mind too much.
