Donkey Kong lower marquee/upper bezel retainer
« on: February 07, 2012, 09:53:25 am »
I am building a 3/4 size nintendo cabinet, and I need details on this retainer! I can't find any dimensions or detailed pictures anywhere! :banghead: If anyone has one that could please take some photos of it at the least, or even make me a crude sketch with some dimensions so I can have one made, it would be super appreciated!

Here's a link to the specific part i'm referring to:

Elk, have you looked into just using two pieces of plastic L trim glued together to make a T?  You can even bend it to the desired angles pretty easily with blow drier.  That would suffice pretty cleanly and you could buy one peice and cut it in half making the cost a grand total of maybe 6 bucks.  Other than that you can bite the bullet on the $21 repro part and hacksaw it down to your width.

I design metal and sheet metal parts for a living. ;) I have a problem with being extremely anal though, especially with my own crap. :dunno I could just wing it, but i'd like it to be somewhat true to the original.

In that case it's just a math problem then right?  You know the interior width of the original cab, and you have a pic of the product.  Using that one measurement and the pic you should be able to extrapolate the rest of the measurements, and since you're building on a reduced scale you'll be saving yourself a step anyway. I say get that work perk machine a purrin and finish the cab man ;)
