My older brother asplode - anyone from england here?

My brother whom I have not seen for 10 years and only recently got back in touch with has been in an accident where his apartment exploded.

It's unnerving to find a phone call from the police saying they need to contact the "next of kin" with no further details. Kind of makes you think the person is dead. But he's just a little blown up, 2 broken ankles, shattered shin bone, broken wrist and severe burns on his face and arms. Anyways I'm trying to keep up to date on it but there's little information that I can find on it. Only 2 stories, one saying that they had arrested a suspected arsonist, and another saying they had let him go after deciding it wasn't. If anyone comes across anything more substantial I'd appreciate it. Talking to him on the phone has proved less than ideal because he's on some good drugs right now.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  If it was arson hope they catch the perp. and send them to Strangeways.

4-6 months in the hospital was what the hospital told my mom, and she's pretty upset about it. I am more positive. He could have been killed!

As far as I can tell it looks like the arson idea has been dropped. But you never know what can tip someone over the edge.
