VGA to Arcade monitor, SYNC question.
« on: December 11, 2011, 03:37:02 pm »
I Have an arcade cabinet with a working game board and WG K7000 -25" monitor.

Currently the video wires hooked up to the game board are:

R, G, B,  GND,  -HOR SYNC

R -----------------
G ----------------
B-----------------
GND   --------------
+ VERT SYNC  (Empty)
+ HOR SYNC   (Empty)

GRND             (Empty)
 - VERT SYNC  (Empty)
 - HOR SYNC    ------------

I have the ultimarc video amp which has "OUTPUT" terminals with  R,B,G, SYNC, GND (and one empty terminal).

The R,G,B, GND are no brainers. I just want to confirm that the
- VERT SYNC - HOR SYNC  connect  together into the SYNC out the ultimarc video amp? +V+H are not used.

I found this info here:
http://www.instructables.com/id/MAME-Cabinet-in-4-key-steps/step2/VGA-to-the-Arcade-Monitor-hookup/

Just want to confirm it's correct for my monitor. Thanks.

If you only have one sync input it's probably composite sync and you simply tie V and H sync together in the VGA cable.

Seems like you got the right card and right Idea. GO for it. basically the monitor divides the sync at a transistor on the monitor board. but like the Website said youhave to have a 15 khz signal at all time and that card you have is native output is 15khz.
Thanks Michael

K will give it a shot. The ultimarc guy said to hook it up exactly the way it's hooked up now to the Org game board... R, G, B,  GND,  -HOR SYNC Will give it a shot.
