Thanks Ed.  It was a crazy weekend and I'm just getting caught up.  Two things.  It looks like Hercules set up is on Disk-1, 2, and 3 and not in my Rescue that I can find.  Am I looking in the wrong place?  I found the below batch on Disk-1, 2, and 3 in the "Hercules Setup" file.  Do I delete EVERYTHING in bold as shown below or would I only delete "program"="GVRDongleMonitor.exe" portion?

it should be right in the rescue disk >gvrdonglemonitor.exe<,once u kill it the one's
in disk1,2,3 cannot be called in as the rescuse disk set's it up as a .exe
when we refer to a .bat >batch-file< it could and alot of time is a .exe
where a .dat file is a data file,much like a .cab is a cabnet file >ie a batch of driver's/dll's grouped into 1 file that has to excuted through window's/system32<
for me personaly and i know this is wrong,to try to explain it,when someone tell's me .bat i tend to look for both .bat and .exe..

This is what I'm seeing when I go to the rescue.  I was using "freefileviewer" to search within each file and I don't see the "gvrdonglemonitor.exe" anywhere.  Am I overlooking it?  This is Team Challenge.  Interesting is the amount of Need For Speed files are in the PQ_Debug file.  Have no idea why those are there.

I can find it on disk 1, 2, and 3.  I can delete it from each disk if need be.  I just need to know if I'm deleting the entire section that I placed in BOLD in the above post or if I'm just deleting the .exe line that is on the bottom.

Sorry to hear about that, Ed.  I hope it all works out in the end.

I'm still hanging at the dongle bypass so let me know what you think.  I found the files on each of the 3 install disks but not the rescue.  I just need to know EXACTLY what I am deleting.

Spitfire- Dropbox still has the rescue disk and install disks for "TEAM CHALLENGE" only so you aren't missing anything at this point.

Hi stpcore, I stumbled across this forum while looking for a few answers on PGA golf hardware limitations. I have a machine running Team Challenge but non of the install discs or recovery disc. I did receive the set of game disc's with the cabinet, but they are for a previous version. Was hoping you could link me to your upload so that I can download the correct install disc's for this cabinet.
I have rebuilt the PC inside the the cabinet a couple of times so if there is anything that I could help you with I would be glad to try.

the usa dongle and can dongle are totaly dif

that's totally fine. That would be great if you could get pga to work with an ipac. I could build a few machines for my friends so we could all join your network and play tournaments. With an ipac as the interface and a VGA to ega/cga adapter board it would be easy to do and pretty cheap.

So at that point you are bypassing the S-Video on the graphic card in order to receive a better picture?  I'm anxiously awaiting on how this will look if I connect the PGA computer to a 40" LCD monitor.  I'm wondering if that size will be too large for a pedestal type cabinet or if I will have any sync issues but I seem to remember that someone told me that it's essentially plug and play.

it would not be as good a picture. Pga uses a high Res monitor in a dedicated cabinet. The adapter board would make it possible to put the pga computer in any old arcade cabinet with any old monitor. The ipac would make it possible to not have to use the pga wire harness. So basicly you could make any old arcade game into a working pga machine with:

An arcade cabinet
A working arcade monitor
Any computer with pga and eds upgrades installed
An ipac
An adapter board
Your own harness
A trackball and a couple buttons.

I would more than likely be building a few of these as soon as all the computer stuff is figured out by our Savior ed. I have a ton of extra wire so I could make harnesses for anyone that needs them. I really want to help but since I'm not a computer guy this could be my contribution to the pga project.

if so then yes
which ever the result's are still going to be the same
we need to manually add the .dll's/.oxc's/driver's to window's
and the nessary pointer to hercule's
which is why i contaced andy
because his uses perty much gernic stuff with full blown window's
which we do not run,pga run's a very limted set of window's system driver's
more graphic then anything else
and they are limted at best...
so my thinking is to take which ever or both and add them to pga golf,and do away with the dated i/o board
or if 1 want's they could spin it around and run full window's,and run the pga under emulation,which in my eye's take's away the full flavor of the game
but back to your point i will look at opti-pack

Yes the optipac it for trackballs and spinners. The ipac is for buttons only.

the ipac can .cfg to be the same
hence the reason i leaned toward's it
u c the optipac expect's window's full xp or mame,again full xp to be loaded
u must rember we run on winxp(e)..ie limted driver's
ie dll's/.oxc's
unless i blot window's, then that is a dif ball game all toghter..
ipac i would think can handle the job

i am still leaning toward's the i-pac
i just do not want to blot windowsxp(e) to much
u have to understand we run under a limteded ammout of driver's
ie .dll's/.oxc's/driver's..to prove this to yourself
just open it with any good editer
and look in system and or system32
we can if demand is there do it,lord know's 3 op's here support shoutbox
which carry's all nessary real file's
so u realy can not  muck any thing up and not beable to fix it
simple over write there
fix's that muck up
in a post that did not make it up ?
i explained the dif
optipac is windows system32 native
ie look's at the input as dual mouse's
i did explain once hercule's hand's over control to window's
the keyboard and mouse will work
but,and here's the rub,the control is handed back to hercule's
so in short we need to place in hercule's the call's

ie let's just say we use player #2 as on at all time's as a track ball

u c it must turn off the window's native driver's for keyboard and mouse
much like hercule's dose,but  the i/o then gain's control
the pointer is sitting right in hercule's
u have to rember we run under a limted # of windows driver's

the ipac is driver driven the optipac is window's driven..to dif anmial's

Hey ed,
I've used Andy's ipacs, optipacs, minipacs for many years. I have used over 60 of them in the last year. Great product and a great guy.
My back is still in a lot of pain but its not as bad as it was before the surgery. I had a double discectomy last Tuesday. Ill be recooping for 12 weeks.
