Ed...we don't have any hiccups with Dropbox.  You have it set up correctly and I was able to grab everything.  Thanks for your help on that one.  If you prefer I can offer to link other members to my Dropbox PGA folders so you don't have to take the time to manage the sharing.  It's the least that I can do and I hope it will clear up some time for you.

Anyone can send me a PM with your email address associated with your Dropbox account and I can open the folders to you by sending you a sharing invitation.  If you have not registered for a Dropbox account yet you can send me a PM with your email address and I can send you an invitation to start a Dropbox account.  I think we both get additional storage when done this way.  With that being said, you can certainly open an account on your own.  My motive is not to get referral credit with Dropbox.  I'm just trying to help others as I have received a lot of help in this forum myself!

Sounds good, Ed.  Now that you shared the files with me I will open up sharing on my end so that nobody has access to your account and your password is protected.  I (as well as you) can share any specific file folder without giving out our personal Dropbox passwords. 

To do this you must sign in to dropbox.com online (not from your desktop icon) and right click the folder you would like to share.  This will allow you to then add the email address(s) of other users that can then access the file folders that you specifically chose to share.  Your personal folders cannot be accessed unless you right click and choose to share them with another email address.  But don't worry about it...I will open up my folders to anyone that needs the info so you aren't having to be concerned about it.

Keep up the good work on your end.  Everything you provided me was exactly what I was looking for.

Great job, Ed!  I'm happy that I can contribute finally as everyone has offered great assistance for me here.  If anyone would like an invitation to the Dropbox folder please PM me your email address and I will send it over.  I check emails rather frequently so I would imagine you would have the invite within 3 hours if not immediately.

If someone has the time to put together a small tutorial on how to take these files and get these to bootable CDs and installed properly I think that will help out some members here as well!

just upload them in that format
and when u d/l to there seperate folder's

u can then make a bootable cd of EACH of them
as that is what hercules expect's
and will ---smurfette--- a storm if u try to code around it..have tie shirt trying,plus tire mark's from herc is a jerk at time's,the stuff on pga bot
herc never biatched about,but i had to leave it that format
hence the long time in the release,if u look on disk 3 u will shake your head and go who in god's name coded this cluster fxxx ??

plus this is the exact reason i wanted to keep my file's in a private server
with mirc backup >real-time<
because less exp.coder's will get themself's in real do do if they do not follow the rule's,just to turn on the internal t10 was a nightmare,to tell it to no longer look for a dial up was easy,but to tell herc it is now looking for a t10 and or an on-board lan

Hi all,
Great work from everyone and can't wait for the action to begin. So let me get this straight the drop box has only the original rescue disks on it in case of a Fxcx up and all the other files needed to unlock everything and play online will be available in the near future via eds server?

If so ill send my pm as I don't have any rescue disks and would hate to lose such a great game. Also should get around to cloning my HD would that be another good safeguard Ed? In preparation for the upcoming mods?

Ed- I don't want to distract you but I was wondering if you were able to successfully get the ipac to work with the control panel?  The reason I'm asking is because I have been buying up the i/o cards and cables in order to build another machine and have a spare card and cable in the event something goes wrong in the future.  I don't want to continue doing this if you think they will be obsolete and we can use the ipac now or in the near future.

Hope all is going well up there in Canada.  Starting to get cold here in Chicago unfortunately.

finally had time today to work on pga bot !!finally!!,as this box was in deeeeep scan
15.35 hr's worth,i finished up more on pga,look's colser then ever now
as we are putting the reg file's for pga on dropbox,i pulled them from the pga call list
now back to your question,i have to hard code the nessary call's into hercules
and :expand: the system32/system file's,olny thing i can c at the moment that will be a bit wackey,is the control panel layout,as i am not yet that veresed in ipac

i want everyone involved in this to understand
get yourself another SPARE harddrive,for the simple reason when u start to use the new install disk it will want the other 3 new 1's
or it will not work,u CANNOT mix and match willy nilly
so in short my advice is to drop the few buck's they cost.
Is grab 1 and place the new complete file's on it

for the ipac i will make it a patch file

we will also need a part of the sp3 service pk as the newer verison :after: 2004
out dates pre 2004,they even call it legacey now
as the new code is written with alot of ocx file's and other depencides
i am glad they have a sub routine call where 90% are placed where
they want them...what i need to do now is move them to were i need them and or link hercules to them,there it is u have it

it is a full and complete rebuild
so u will put your orignal hd aside,and use a new 1
it is nicely tucked into 60gig..sp3 like's to have room to breath >piggie<,
some of the file's blooted...which will happen when u put in as many variable's as i have

lan/wireless/whatever video card u decide >within reason<
no dongle nessary,option to turn card reader on/off in the main setup call
on-line real time,mult new course's,skin's,player's,the option to add yourself >pic<

to see if i can add there native s/w pkg to it
for the ipac,which i believe i can easy

One thing I would like to add here and this may be me being ignorant but I figure better safe than sorry.  For those that have "ALL ACCESS PASS" installed on their machines you may not want to download and install the files that are currently in Dropbox until everything else is configured and released on Ed's end.  If you install the "Team Challenge" files on our Dropbox you may not have access to your unlocked "All Access Pass" courses as this was an upgrade that is not included in the fresh rescue and install files that are currently available via download.  If I am wrong I apologize but I would hate to see anyone loose their additional courses before everything else is sorted out.

Thanks for the update here, Ed.  I don't want anyone to accidentally downgrade the "All Access Pass" as I know those extra courses (25 versus 12) are not going to be installed on the Dropbox files.

One more thing...I bought up a bunch of the Global VR cards for saving player attributes (ie clothes, faces, etc).  If anyone needs one please let me know.  I'm not looking to profit on these as I want everyone involved (a member that has contributed to this thread or has been a member of BYOAC) to have one if need be.  I also have an extra operator card but I'm thinking this will not be needed any longer.  I just want to have a close nit community of PGA golfers that want to play online and unlock the true potential of these poorly neglected machines!

Hi Ed, if all that you say eventually becomes reality u have done some exceptional work there mate. A big well done and a bigger thank you as would love to add most or if not all of ur suggested mods to my machine.
Great that this is going to be a new build and as suggested u just take the old hard drive out n replace with new one and build from ground up. If all goes pair shaped in the process I suppose it's should be as easy as re inputting ur old HD and the original game should be there again. Can't wait to get starting mate n to start this world wide tournament.

u have to rember i am trying to do this as a 1 shot goal

on the reg pga cab's there is a sep audio board
some come with the jama interface some just the audio board
so u can clearly see a concern there
most if not all come with a sep :test: switch..again a concern
ie a noob wiring this without a wiring diagram ?
or do i do 1 ?
or do i put it into the s/w ? and if so how do i tell it to get there ?

on to the video
do i make it a seperate  :video: driver disk
and if so how many card's do i inclued,with the nessary driver's,and telling hercules to expect it and or complain about not having it?

but the main program is server bound,all gaming mfg's went that way in 2012
so in short u need a internet connection and pay a fee to get the program,and it is olny shadowed in the ram,the true running program is never d/l to the harddrive
as far as it goes for all gt version's upto 2011 there now in the pga's
why i did that i never understand,but is but,i guess i wanted there skin's/course's
there was a reason for it at 1 time,but as this has growen to the size it is
i honestly forget why i added them..

I'm not interested in Golden Tee any longer since I purchased my first PGA machine.  I was just thinking it would be a fun project to try to place a newer PC version of PGA Golf (2012 or 2013) in an arcade cabinet for the updated graphics, players, courses, etc.  My main concern was trying to get it to interface properly with the trackball since these newer games are meant to be played with a mouse.

Regarding your PGA Team Challenge update(s)...would it be safe to assume that this won't be ready for release until after the first of the year?  The ONLY reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to piece together a home machine for my brother and it would make it much easier (and advantageous) to run your updated program in a newer tower versus me trying to piece together an older tower for him.

One last thing regarding CVN53's question since he is running "CHALLENGE" and not "TEAM CHALLENGE"...are the  files in Dropbox for "TEAM CHALLENGE" or "CHALLENGE"?  I thought they were "TEAM CHALLENGE".  I know those are two different version with "TEAM CHALLENGE" being the most current.

I don't think the dongles will be compatible with each other.  That's the issue.  If someone has a Challenge dongle and they install Team Challenge and don't have the dongle for it they are going to be SOL.  If you want to upload Challenge at some point and invite me to share I will host it from my Dropbox so you don't have to deal with it.

The main eng team for pga broke up over 10 year's ago
hence the reason gobal-vr gave me the okie dokie to do as i am doing

Olny game in town i know of is gt-live 2012/2013 we just went 2013
in my eye's if gobal-vr had stuck it out

and it hit me some of the challange's could be up-dated without a dongle change
i just need to know the # on the dongle
and i can cross it over
as i have the up-grade disk's also

the deceatied cab's had a dif dongle then the :kit: cab's
but the #'s should be clearly listed
if it is not on the outside open the dongle
and on the atmel will be a sticker
if not i can post u the program to dump the atmel
then in any hex-editor u will beable to see it in the ascii
u are just dumping it NOT re-writting it
so fuse's are of no concern
another way to tell
if your pga is up ?,then plug in  the dongle u want  test
and it willl either take it >good<,or it will spit back to u wrong dongle etc,etc,
in the etc,etc it will report the verison u pluged in

we will be killing this !!REG!! cmd
what we will do is take our pga stuff
and go through the 4 disk's 1 at a time,
we will make 4 sep .dir's in a harddrive
so we all stay on the same page
as i post it..
then we kill what we do not want
then last we will kill the cmd's in  hercule's
that we no longer want.
The reason we are killing these cmd's is so we can .cfg pga the way we like,plus it will open it up for u to take seperate !patch! file's to suit your need's,and u ppl get a good lesson in about 4 dif type's of editor's
once we are done this
u will make 4 different disk's
1=rescue
2=disk-1
3=disk-2
4=disk-3
call them all new-r-etc,etc,etc
DO NOT lock them,as they will be the 1's u will be using
some i will olny want to add a !patch! file to,as i get the bug report's.
The first taker is the !dongle!

make 4 different .dir's in your harddrive's
as what i post next is the .bat's,.reg,.dos.bat file's we will be removing from disk :3:
these will be done on there respitive .dir's in your harddrive..:main putter: NOT YOUR PGA,then we will burn the .dir >example disk 3< to cd calling it disk 3
make the disk bootable but leave it !UNLOCKED!,if u do not know how to do this
then u may need to wait for pga bot....,so in short u have just made a modified disk 3 that u can edit..hope u catch the point ?,now for most of u go get FREEFILEVIEWER
it is exaclty that FREE and will allow u to see what u are editing
once i get the ok we follow u i will start to post the kill's

make a .dir on your hard drive call it rescue
once u have :COPYED: the disk there
open it,:REMOVE THIS BATCH FILE >>GVRDONGLEMONITOR<<,it is in :HERCULES:
it should no longer look for a dongle at all,then burn it to a disk
use it as your rescuse disk
all the other 3 should load up
as u have turned off the dongle call in hercules,it should not bark for it
nor will it call the window's reg's in
