ebay really grinds me with it's password bull plop.

you forget your password so you have a 10 step "recovery" process that resets the password involving frikin text messages and security questions and emails and phonecalls to your dead great grand parents.... finally you get to put in a new password. so you type in a password....nope all of a sudden now there are these RULES (why you didn't you fudk;lvjk go bahhhhhhhh!?!??!?@!>@) you have to have a capital and lowercase and a number but not at the end and a character you cant find on a keyboards and you have to hold ALT+type a number so you do all this crap and bastardized your password beyond all recollection and THEN YOU HAVE TO TYPE IT AGAIN then they say OH NO SORRY, YOU ALREADY USED THIS PASSWORD ONCE BEFORE PICK A NEW ONE.

ya, no wonder I can't remember my damned ebay password, assclowns.

Even worse than the ludicrous password complexity requirements are the expiration rules.  I have at least 20 different passwords at work most of which must be changed every 60 days and cannot be reused.  You have no choice but to write them down on a piece of paper or whiteboard.  Whatever idiot thought making them expire increases security is the one who should be subjected to an unpleasant death.

The sites that I run for my business have this requirement and the only reason we have it is because we had to to meet audit requirements.

It makes it impossible for me to remember my passwords for 50+ client sites.

I still feel the best password is nothing.

even the master-est cracker software would run through all permutations of all combinations  for hundreds of years trying to crack a password that didn't exist.

Is it considered unprofessional to use an easier, almost-uncrackable game?
