Cocktail base question

I just picked up a 32 inch TV with a flat screen (those big heavy TVs) for practically nothing. I was thinking of building a 3-sided cocktail arcade with it but since the TV is so heavy I wanted to make sure the base was as solid as possible.

Does anyone have any ideas/plans/pics of a sturdy base that would hold this type of TV? Been searching but I didn't find any that used one of these heavy monsters.

Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot think of one that big but you sort of have to make it up as you go.  Start with a generic plan ans make sure your monitor will fit after you change dimensions.   My main recommendation would be to mount the  monitor solidly to a frame at the top and not build a cabinet where the monitor tilts out.  The hinge and tilted part will never support a monitor of that weight.

Depending on the weights involved, I might look at the plans for a DIY woodworkers work bench as a basis. They're not pretty but they are specifically designed  to take a lot of abuse and support a lot of weight.

I would do it sketchup. Essentially, I would use the work bench as a frame then "skin" or clad the outside to achieve a decent looking cocktail cabinet.

SavannahLion: I think a woodworker work bench support is exactly what will keep this beast from falling during gameplay. Thanks for the link will definitely read it through for tips.

BobA: Yeah, I wouldn't trust any hindge to hold this up. Will post pics as I get started.
