Beginning of MAME cabinet/project

Hey new to the arcade game, but this is my first attempt of building my own mame arcade. i read some stuff, online, tried to find good pictures of someone building a cabinet, watched some videos and this is what i ended up with after a saturday and sunday of work with my dad about a total of 8 hours work. it was frustrating but fun, especially when I had to move plywood with our old 90s VW jetta. hopefulyl the picture attaches right

Still got a lot of work to do, going to cut the slot for the t-molding either tomorrow or friday or something. just ordered the laminate and in the front will be a drawer for a keyboard and mouse to come out, probably an area to rest controllers. the panel is going to be a flat board, probably not like a box like ive seen online. putting in an lcd monitor within the next few days too. i do need help with the control panel and i got questions, mainly regarding an ipaq or what else i can wire the joysticks and buttons to so if you can help me out, PM me. thanks everyone

Hey what kind of screws and wood glue did you use to mount the support strip (pine I assume) to the MDF? I've heard various things about what to/not to use. Your cab looks solid.

Hey I think I used 1 1/4 inch wood screws. They are brass I think. I just went to home depot and got a box of 1 1/4 inch screws. The plywood is 3/4 inch and I think the support strip is also 3/4inch. I actually didnt use any wood glue, I knew I should've but I just added more screws and it seems pretty solid. I think any basic wood glue would be fine but the stronger the better since you will probably be adding a good amount of weight, anythign you would find at home depot should be ok but then again I didn't use any. If i find out though what would work I'll let you know

Oh ok I couldn't tell if it was MDF or not from the pics. Apparently MDF can tear out easily so Im having to be careful in screw choice.
