A sample:

A couple construction shots and the specs are here:

My original machine can be seen here:

I thought it was pretty sweet, until we finished #2 up there ;)

Nice finish - it blends in nicely with your room.  Great cab!

What are those little shelves for on the CP?

Congratulations!!! Great work on the cabinet, love the stained cabinets.   fits the room very well.

Can I ask you one question?  The green buttons on the sides, I am assuming they are Pinball buttons, are they hard to get to, thye kind of look like a stretch with your hands holding onto the top edges??

Looks great, best of luck with it.

The green buttons are actually the insert coin buttons.

The little shelves are "pop" can holders.  I was a little iffy about putting them there thinking they were in the way of the insert coin buttons, but they look nice.
We're finding you actually use the can to bump the coin buttons in when you need more credits.

Looks nice.  I'm starting my 8th cab and its for my inlaws who want a wooden cab to match their gameroom.   I'm not sure if I should go with a wooden control panel or go with my usual lexan.  I'd like to see a close up pic of your control panel if you get a chance.

No, that is helpful.  I'm just deciding whether or not I'll introduce some color.  Thanks again.

What is the little black box & wire to the right of the control panel (kinda hidden behind it)?
I'm kinda assuming is a seperate keypad...

How are you using it? (& What for?)

By the way...
BEAUTIFUL!
I'm not a freak!...
Oh wait...

It's a numberic keypad for the jukebox s/w.
We installed VMJ on it and use the keypad to navigate CD's.
Couldn't come up with a better, clean way to have the 0-9 keys without mapping them to the 12 arcade buttons and never remembering which button was which number, etc.

what kinda keypad did you use? like to find a good one, myself, for my cab. don't really want a dedicated jukebox, but would like some of the simulation.
It's all about the Pentiums

I really like the cabinet.  I have been looking at constructing a stained cab for a while and seeing how yours turned out is motivating me.  Any more construction pics or, perhaps, some rough dimensions?

I'm sure the last thing you want to do is spend more money, but have you seen this before:

*ruff*

<edit> I don't know anything about Extreme Computing.  I picked one of these remotes up at CompGeeks a few months ago and have not used it yet.  I just thought it might be an option for you to get rid of the keyboard.</edit>

Firstly nice cab, goes with the room very well.

Secondly, on the subject of remotes, I picked up a new TV card for my main pc last month (www.nebula-electronics.com) and it came with a remote control which can be programmed to be used with any other windows app. Another option to consider for controlling a cabinet without a keyboard.

Good point, and those remotes tend to be RF instead of infrared.  I'm not sure how well the RF works, but it has to be better than having a keyboard.

I have the remote I linked too, and I have an AIW 8500 with an RF remote.  I plan to use the RF remote unless I have problems with it.

It's pretty similar to one of his, that's for sure.  We really liked that look.
I put links to both my 1st cab and to more pics of cab #2 in my first post.  I guess noone sees them up there.

I need to layout the dim's we ended up with.  I started with a rough plan, but we tweaked it during construction.  I have a feeling I'll be building more like this one  :)

Is that remote IR?  If there was one like that, only RF it might be perfect!  I like that idea for sure.  I don't want to be locked into line of sight, though.
