This will be my third cabinet, depending on if I can muster up the funds to build it. I'm gonna try to sell My CVS2 cabinet to fund it.
Here's the concept:
There will be a pc running hyperspin as well as a 360 jtag.
A KVM switch will toggle back and forth for the LCD, audio, and xbox hacked joysticks.
The KVM will be controlled by a script launched from Hyperspin. So instead of just switching to the 360 when you want to play, you'll actually go to an Xbox 360 theme in Hyperspin, pick your game, and then the script will send a hotkey to the KVM. The KVM will then switch to the 360. An ftp command will tell the 360 what game to launch. The KVM monitors the power on the 360, and switches back to the pc when you power down the system with the guide button. So hopefully I can have a seamless transition from Hyperspin to the 360.
http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8319I want a trackball, and I have to decide on if I'm gonna do 6 or 8 button layouts. I'll have to do some testing of 360 games, ps2, DC, and n64 emulators and decide if I need all 8 buttons. Anyone running all of these on their cabs and have any recommendations?
Above the trackball I want to have an xbox guide button which will also serve as an esc key for navigating out of emulators and menus in mugen. I'm thinking of actually molding a large LED lit button that looks like a bigger version of the real guide button. I just hope I can fit all of this without overcrowding my CP. I'll probably use Sanwa sticks. Is everyone happy with Sanwas for fighting games?
The artwork and name are all up in the air right now. I was thinking hyperspinX or hyperspin360. Seems fitting that spin and 360 have similar meanings. Maybe I can play on that. The movelist above the CP will be illuminated, and I will probably make it one large sheet explaining what buttons are what in each emulator.
The cabinet may end up being a Kraylix kit, unless I have the motivation to try to build my own Vewlix clone. Either way, I plan on doing a really nice paint job at a auto-body shop. Maybe like a 3 stage Lexus paint job. I want the thing shiny as hell. White preferably.
this is nice:
