Is my video card not good enough to support N64 games?
« on: January 17, 2011, 11:33:04 pm »
Every emulator except N64 runs fine (Project 64 v1.7) It also kept freezing on v1.6. Looks to me like something in my PC can't handle the N64 games.  :dunno

It will freeze every on 1 of the intro screens every time. I'm running a GeForce FX 5500 video card. Should this card be enough? If so, then I guess it could be not enough RAM.  :banghead:

Hmm, so what could my issue be?

Have you updated the video card drivers?  Do you have other applications or processes running in the background? Are you running the emulator through a front end?

Drivers are current. I run it through Mala so that's all that is running. It freezes even if I don't go through Mala.

Have you tried a different version of Project 64?  Are you sure your roms are good?

I have tried 1.6 & 1.7 as stated in my 1st post. ROMs are good.

Can you be a little more clear on what the problem is? Is it a single game that you're noticing this in, or has it been several many games?
