Wells-Gardner d9800 over range
« on: August 27, 2010, 11:31:54 pm »
So, I finally got my WGD9800 all hooked up to the computer. I turn it on and it goes to a black screen with dark static running up and in the middle it says "out of range" after it sits there for a while it just keeps saying "no signal in". I am a total noob at this so I appologize. I have the monitor hooked up to the comp with the VGA chord so I'm not sure where it is getting "no signal in" from. Anyone offer some help here...I am totally clueless.

What resolution are you feeding it?

actually, I did some poking around and I am wondering if that's the issue. I read that the comp needs to be set to a 800x600 reolution.. LOL the only issue is that I dont have a desktop monitor to plug the pc into. So I guess I'll have to borrow the gf's monitor and see if thats the issue.

It most certainly is the issue.  Just remember once you have that 2nd monitor hooked that you set them both to the 800x600 and then your monitor as primary...otherwise it can still boot up even with the GF's monitor disconnected at the higher resolution (this happened to me a lot in the beginning till I figured it out).

You will enjoy the monitor, that is almost certain..RIP WG CRTs :(
