Could I use this as a 2nd monitor?
« on: July 20, 2010, 12:40:52 pm »
I'm thinking of adding a 2nd monitor to display some graphics as part of a control panel and was thinking about the type described below. So, a few questions:

Could you connect this from the PC's VGA port?

Could I run a program (ie. a Flash SWF) and output this to the 2nd monitor?

Thanks in advance....

It looks like it only accepts composite input (the yellow plug). Your video card would have to output that. Most cards now will let you assign that as a secondary output. To use VGA you'd need some sort of converter box.

Thanks cotmm86030,
I was also thinking about using a DVD player connected to one of these. I take it I'd need a player with composite too.

How much and where do you get them.

I've been looking at the MIMO USB monitors but they're a bit $$$.

But they can also do touchscreen, which could be slick...
