WG K7000 - Remote board replacement?
« on: July 16, 2010, 11:43:26 am »
Hello,

I need to either replace the whole board or the pots. I have tried cleaning the pots but it makes no difference. The black level no longer works, and the slightest bump to the board and the monitor go screwy. Just wondering where one would find a replacement board or what are the pot specs to order replacements?
If I do replace the pots, should I replace any other components on the board while I am at it?

There is a photo of the board below.

Thanks for your help!

i'd run a soldering iron over that board first, make sure there is no broken joints first.

then do a continuity test on the cable going to the main chassis, make sure no broken wires.

if need be, you could replace the pots, but start with a re-solder first. it's cheap and easy and my fix your issue.

Thanks for the advice.  I went through the steps with no luck.
I did take the pots off and ran them through a multimeter. I am not sure what it all means. I started at the lowest resistance and worked my way up until I got a reading then documented it below.

Thanks for your help.
