Mamewah Help Pls.
« on: June 10, 2010, 05:53:21 pm »
Hello
It has been a number of years since I build a cabinet... Been away from Mamewah and need some assistance.

Today I got the mame list showing up, working, playing mp3 and exiting with no problems.  I am able to edit layouts and show screen shots etc.

I have a few questions....

When I run mame I get the nag screens, you know the disclaimers and the type ok screens.  I am using mame .62 and tired the -skip_disclaimer option etc.. but it does not work.  How can I skip these screens? I have read that there is custom versions etc or you can compile your own however I am not able to do this.. can anyone help me out pls?

In regards to mame I am currently just running default, mame  GAMENAME... is there any tweaks that would make it look better?

In regards to mamewah is there a way to convert MALA layouts to work?

Also how do you get the movies to work? I have the directory set etc, but in the layout I do not see an option to show the movie? WIth artwork you turn it on in layouts and select a position for it.. how does it work with the movies?  Also what player/codecs would you suggest?  I have avi movies.

Skins- I have searched the forums and google and found several (Cpviewer had the most) however is there any others out there? I am just not finding what I am after..

Is there a way to change the Mamewah loading screen? When I click a game it shows a box and says loading.. Can I make something custom??

sorry for so many questions... it has been a while.

thanks in advance
Jim

Try setting:
Code: [Select]
skip_disclaimer 1in your mame.ini (inside of the mame emulator folder)

No. You have to do it manually using the Mamewah's layout editor. Also note that mamewah doesn't
support any of Mala's animations.

What version of Mamewah are you using? You did set the movie preview path on the emulator's .ini file right?
Example:
Code: [Select]
movie_preview_path                        Z:\arcade\gameboy\VIDEOSAlso make sure you have the Xvid codec installed.

Is there a way to change the Mamewah loading screen?
Yes. You need to use Mamewah's Layout editor and edit the "message screen".
Mamewah Layout Designer> View> Message Form.

Try [nodosbox] in your mamewah emu config. It suppresses the initial execution. But don't do it until you've got your emulator running correctly, cos it's great for bug-testing.
