I'm a newb... power line
« on: June 05, 2010, 05:28:14 pm »
So im a total newb..

I have a monitor ripped out of machine.  (nothing has changed, no boards swapped out, simply this monitor was cut out, same monitor, same everything. No changes to anything). I was fully expecting to see two big black wires sitting open...

This is a williams machine that has a new ps in it.

I know this monitor is ripped out of it and I need to get it back in..

Its a well gardner.

Anyways there are two black power wires cut off the original monitor(the ends are black and black/white).

Bigger thicker wires.

The only things I see in the machine up by the monitor is two purple wires.. Like accesory lighting and obviously the 6 pin connector.

I know I need to get them to switched power but why is there now wires in the machine... it came from the machine... two big black wires should be sitting somewhere cut... but I simply cant find them...  They should be off the transfromer right?

So i have 2 cut big think black wires... and I simply can't find the "original" ends... could it use the 3 prong plug?

Not familiar with your machine. However on the older machines with older monitors, there is normally an isolation transformer right off the power wires as they enter the cab. It should have only the monitor wired to it.

I see you have a transformer there but it has a whole bunch of wires.....

Those pics are just blurry to make things hard to see, but it appears that the purple wires are your video harness and power connector.

You'll need to replace the connector on the monitor side.  I can't tell what kind of connector you already have on there.

yeah i looked at my joust cocktail and it has the connector.  I just didn't imagine the monitor using such small wires...
