I can just see a night in your bar....

"So, you say you were one of the best at "Mortal Combat"

"Yes I was...another shot?"

"Sure"

"I was pretty good myself back in the day, too bad there's no way to prove such a claim"

"Hmmm...perhaps there is"

"Hey, what the!!??"

What a great place to get holed up during long winters!  Nice job!

I would drink there... anytime.  Hope the touchscreen frame measurements came out okay, looks pretty good in the picture.  Pretty impressive man space I must say.

The bezel measurements you gave me were perfect.  I did a writeup over in the Audio/Jukebox/MP3 area.

My two favorite things. Drinking and Mame.  Very cool Clap clap clap!

Is your support arm/board hinged at the the bottom or just use friction to stay put?

That's beautiful Burke.

Couple of questions that are hard to tell from pictures:
1. Are the controllers comfortable to play on? It looks like they may be a smidge low with those barstools, almost knee level.
2. If someone is standing behind the bar, can you see the television?

Again, probably one of the most impressive ideas I've seen on the forums. Really really cool. I'm wondering if designing a way for the controllers to come out on top of the bar would be more comfortable.

It's hinged at the bottom.  I added magnets to the back of the arm so that it stays in place when you put it up and close the panel.

They are actually pretty comfortable.  A friend and I played SmashTV to the end on Friday night and had no problems.

Not really.  You need to stand to one side if you are behind the bar.  The placement of the TV was a balance between seeing over the top of things and being comfortable on the neck.  Overall, I think the placement turned out to be just about right.

Thanks for all the complements.  I love this forum, and I'm glad I was finally able to give something back.

I'll go ahead and make the statement we are all thinking.....

Now there is nothing new to produce in our hobby except for modifying a bare-chested woman to produce a set of arcade controls from her mid-section (in similar hidden fashion as the bar mame).

(Stobe hears the distinct sound of Knievel plugging in all his cordless tool batteries, and preparing for battle).

Beautiful job and brilliant concept.

I love it. Great idea. I think on top would be cool too, but not the best idea if someone spills a drink or something. The way you have it, it's pretty impossible to spill all over it when it's folded up. Nice work...and a cool idea all around. Clap clap clap!

Won't someone please think of the rainforests?

Its bad enough you used all that wood for the bar, but what about all the paper I'm wasting with the endless wishlist I keep adding to every time I see an idea as awesome as this?

Burke, you are indeed quite famous, and I was brought to this forum from one of the articles  you cite.  I just had to register to find out if you posted your plans or a walkthrough?!?!  It is the coolest bar/arcade/cardroom I've ever seen, and has become my dream for a one day basement :-)  Thanks for sharing in any case and enjoy that sucker!

PS, if we played our weekly poker game there, people would be wanting to get knocked out!
