« on: December 20, 2007, 12:40:52 pm »
I know ultimarc list avga 1 and 2 but I've seen green ones, blue ones, red ones. Some with 2 video outputs others with 1.
I'm confused, help me identify these.

IIRC, there are a total of 3 versions: Version 1, AGP only. Version 2: AGP or PCI Express.

Version 1 was: ATI Radeon 9200 chipset. 128 Mb SDRAM. AGP slot.

Version 2 is: ATI Radeon 9250 (AGP) chipset or the Radeon X1050 (PCI Express).

I believe that they simply take an off-the-shelf specific model of ATI Radeon card and program their special bios into it then sell it to you.  There may be minor revisions the original manufacturer made card, and they're just picking up whatever versions are supplied to them. Therefore the board can have some component differences or different colors/etc.. but should all share the same core chipset.

Actually, there are 4.

Version 1 with an ATI 7XXX series chip  (Top Green Board, AGP). 2 vga connectors

Version 1 with an ATI 92XX series chip (The two blueish boards, AGP) This one I believe only had a vga connector.

I believe all Version 1 boards had 64MBs or at least most of them did.

Version 2 with an ATI 92XX series chip (Red board AGP), has a DVI and VGA connector.

Version 2 with an ATI 1050(1550? ) (Orange board, PCIe), has a DVI and VGA connector.

Note:  I didn't count the svideo connector as a connector in the above.

ihave the bottom greeny one and it doesn't work properly ! but its the VGA arcade monitor output and a composite(yellow) output, i think someone has mucked about with it as it was a eBay job, as i presume it was ment to be S-Video not composite
