Guncon2 modified for aimtrak
« on: April 08, 2020, 07:53:18 pm »
Hello all, i'm french and new here.
I read a lot of messages here to learn how to do well since tonight.
I buy a arcade cabinet to play lightgun games.
I have 2 old Guncon2 modified with 2 Aimtrak and this run good :)

But now I would like to add a little recoil to each gun.
I have buy:
1 arduino nano
2 mosfet card
2 solenoids 24v
1 alim 24v
but before connecting, I would like to be sure not to do anything stupid :

Is this ok for you ?
It is possible to use directly the recoil pin of the aim ?
thank you in advance for your help

You don't need an Arduino for this. The Aimtrak can send the pulse by itself.

Great, thank you. I will try to read all of this, even if I still have a little trouble with English....
Does aimtrak manage the auto-fire on its own?I wanted to put an arduino to manage the simple shot, but also the shot while remaining pressed on the trigger.
So is it dangerous to connect the ground of the solenoid 24v directly to the ground of the aimtrak(12v)?

Thanks in advance

Aimtrak is 5 volts (USB)

Use a translator if you have problems. For rapid fire you will have to
Go another route but I can't help there.

Ground is shared if I remember correctly.

Some people mentioned the use of NE555 pulse circuits for full auto mode, it's quite common on home made cabs apparently.
Can't tell you how to use them, I never tried, but you might want to look into it.
