GM 183 DeviceID reporting issue / bug?
« on: February 23, 2017, 09:13:47 pm »
Hi, not quite sure where to report this...

I noticed that when I work with GroovyMame 182/183, and run mame64 -v, I'm not getting an accurate report of the USB detail/DeviceID for my Ultimarc u360 UltraStiks.  When I run a stock MAME 182/183 64 bit executable, I see the proper output:

Input: Adding joystick #1: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 1 (device id: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 1 product_0501d209-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 instance_b9f85d00-e568-11e6-8002-444553540000)
Input: Adding joystick #0: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 2 (device id: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 2 product_0502d209-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 instance_b9f85d00-e568-11e6-8001-444553540000)

When I run with the GM executable, I get this:
Input: Adding joystick #0: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 2 (device id: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 2 product_xαh
 instance_α7)
α79k
Input: Adding joystick #1: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 1 (device id: Ultimarc Ultra-Stik Player 1 product_9k
 instance_α7)
R

Besides making it impossible to get the right detail, I think it may be tied to my problem of not getting the mapdevice USB P1/P2 functionality to work right in my ctrlr files. This may be incorrect, but wanted to pass this info along, as it got me hung up for a while until some folks in another forum thread mentioned it may be the compiled version i was using (GM)

Thanks!
Pete
