SOLVED: Volume Controls?
« on: October 29, 2015, 11:59:57 pm »
Hi guys,

All of a sudden it seems my cabinet is much lower volume than before...

I found a volume button mixed in with the coin slot harness but that is not hooked up at the moment.  Does anyone know what specific JAMMA slot volume would go to?  I can do a little screwing around with it if anyone thinks it would help.

Are there other ways to control volume? Not sure what happened as I have not jangled any wiring etc lately.

Thanks!

Look for a pot on the board, looks like it can be adjusted with a Philips screwdriver, that's volume sometimes.

Adjusting Volume on the 19, 39, 48, or 60-in-1 Multigame PCB

To adjust the volume on the 19-in-1, 39-in-1, 48-in-1, or 60-in-1 Multigame JAMMA PCB you will need to access the SETUP menus via the TEST Switch in your cabinet. Turn on / hold down the TEST switch then power on your PCB/cabinet...this will load the 60-in-1 PCB into the setup menu. If you do not have a cabinet TEST switch then you can set DIP SW 3 - BIT 4 to the ON position and then power up the board.

Once the board loads into the test/setup menu, keep pressing the TEST switch (or Player 1 Shooter Button 1 if you do not have a TEST switch) until you get to the Volume Adjust page. You will need to page through all the game setup pages first as the Volume page is the second to last page. Once on the Volume Adjust page, move the joystick left/right to adjust the volume level. Once the volume level is good, press PLAYER 1 START BUTTON to save the new setting. Then power off the board/cabinet and the adjustment is complete.
Another option to adjust the volume is to turn the small orange pot located near the VGA connector on the 60-in-1 PCB. This small pot actually controls the sound amplifier which will lower or raise the volume however it is best to keep this pot as is (mid-range) and use the TEST switch method to adjust the volume.

Thanks guys.  Could not find anything that looks like it can be turned with a phillips

I do not have a test switch hooked up although I do have the switch and a wiring group that runs from it.  I may need to look into wiring that into the relevant JAMMA leads (which are currently bundled and unused)

I have two dip switches that I can see.  Which ones do I need to move to "on" ?  Right now all of them are "off" except for the #1 switch on one of them

Until I hear back, I will start looking for this orange pot near the VGA hook up

Thanks!

was unable to locate any small orange pot.

Did find POT1 and POT2 and they look like they can be turned but I will hold off :)

OK I tried the POT1 and it worked!

Must have bumped it while wiring up my new JAMMA because it turns fairly easily

Thanks again guys - you have once again saved the day as usual  :applaud:
