Now I don't know what every one else's problem is, but I've been pretty much bedfast for the past few weeks, I can only get up for a few minutes at a time and short of a (pointless) trip to the emergency room I have no way to get any relief from the constant pain in my head other than to wait out for my surgery on the 30th.

I sent him a PM last week in case he gets email alerts about them, but didn't hear back.
Been google stalking him, but haven't come across anything.

WE HOPE YOU'RE DOING OK HOWARD!

Howard has some health issues and is getting wisdom teeth pulled.

Hopefully he will be back soon.   ;D

EDIT: Malenko and I have cleared up our misunderstandings.
When I posted here earlier, I didn't know that Howard had stopped posting elsewhere on the net at the same time he stopped posting on BYOAC.
Sorry if anyone interpreted the original version of this post as an acccusation against Malenko.

well he said he was bedridden in his last post so its probably just that. I would probably ignore any other speculation. let keep it civil and just patiently wait. get better howard.

Yeah hopefully he's back soon after his surgery that he needed. Arguments happen but I doubt that's the reason for his absence. Hope your back soon Howard!

I don't like this crap going down in the driving cab forum, but I'm not going to clean it up yet because there are a few tidbits in there that might actually help people learn the perspective of others.  When/if this thread gets back on track, I'll delete these posts.

Originally, my assumption was that he didn't want the stress of being drawn into any more arguments while dealing with pain (especially in the head).
Seeing no activity anywhere else on the internet made me worry that his health issues had gotten worse though.

This morning I came across a comment he made on youtube a week ago, so I feel better now.
He doesn't owe us anything.  The important thing is that he's ok.

Assuming he still has surgery today, pray for him if you are religious.
I'm gonna play some MK this evening, keeping him in my thoughts.

Good luck with your surgery Howard, hope it sorts the problem out for you and gets you back on the road to recovery (no driving pun intended).

Sorry about accidently stirring up a ruckus in here.   :embarassed:

I went ahead and cleaned out the off-topic issues that didn't need to be addressed here.

They have been handled in a more appropriate venue.

Obviously it's never fun to not be well, but HC's also been a big fan of Halloween though I believe that he scaled it back last year.  Hoping he's better to enjoy this one.

And he didn't get this much love when he took his year or two long sabbatical from here.

Just decided to google check on HC since his Troubleshooter thread popped up. He is at least doing fine enough to argue about video games over on Youtube. You can see his comments on these videos:

He's probably just sick of us.  ;)

If anyone wants to head on over to youtube and hassle him a little, let me know what he says.

I just hope he does come back.  He was such an asset to the community.  I thought his coding was brilliant and he was a cool guy.  Even though some turds on here didn't think so.  Everyone has their opinion of course, but either way, I get why he left.  BYOAC has changed, it was different back in the day.

Really? I don't recall anyone giving him crap over his coding. I thought he was having health issues.

When was back in the day? How have things changed? He quit "indefinitely" in 2008, and before that I think it was in 2009 and 2006.
http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?entry=entry080225-114808

Howard is a brilliant coder and figured out things I would never be able to in a million years . However, forum discussions were not his strong suit. Disagreeing with him was typically met with belittling and name calling. Hell sometimes agreeing with him would also yield you his ire.  So while I think he gave a ton to the community via coding, he didn't give much in terms of personality. I on the other hand have given neither.  I still do hope his health issues have subsided, and that if/when he returns he might be more mellow.

I have nothing against the man, and I will continue to spread the rumor that he's staying away from BYOAChaddles because X2 toe stabbed him.

It seems like you have to pipe up, just to hear your own voice..   and it seems that you love to hold on to the past, to judge others by.

BYOAC has changed..  as everything has and will continue to change.  This is life.

We as people do have the option of change...  thought, sometimes we are forced to change, by the changes around us.

Howard was quite Rigid in his opinions... but then again, so are you... and so are many whom post here.
Similarly, he was quite brass in reactions and responses.  Same for you.. if not worse.   But at least he could let go of things, where do not seem to
be able to do so...

He contributed a lot more than a bunch of whining, personal attacks, and useless drivel...

Man people quoting you makes the ignore feature pointless.

Quoting also breaks the "enable swearing" function.
