Haha, went to buy $5 worth of buttons, ended up spending $85 on random stuff I needed for my builds.

Damn PayPal, you're too easy to use!!

#FirstWorldProblems

At first I thought you were gonna say it wound up being $85 for the $5 worth of buttons once they added the shipping charges  :laugh2:

But I agree it is too easy to spend way too much when browsing the sites - same goes for those quick trips to the hardware store to pick up a few screws.

No problem -- when I saw the price I did the same even though I don't have a use for them yet figured for that price it'll be nice to have them when I do find a use for them..

Those buttons are made for metal/thin control panels... That control panel is too thick for that button.. Is that why it is falling out?  ???

Got mine today -- They're smaller than I thought they were but will still be useful (since I'm gonna be building a small bartop using a Pac Man plug and Play with a 7" DVD player monitor ) Might use them for that or might stick to full size Happs in it and swap out the Happs I used for the on\off switch and Pause, Esc Admin buttons on the other bartop. For the price it's not a bad deal as the tactile feel seems decent.

Here's a comparison pic next to a Happ button for size comparison ( Pretty blurry pic but gets the idea across)

Holy crap.

I plan on using mine for the volume buttons on my PacMan Plug-n-Play build.

Pretty much what I said when I opened the package  :laugh2: -- but the feel of the button is decent so they should work fine for things like that.

Those aren't a good substitute. Harder to press and Radio Shack prices.

I just got mine in, bigger than I thought they'd be.  I was actually expecting the rat shack ones as I like that size and don't mind the spring strength on them.  Probably use them as volume buttons on my starfighter build lol

Really?  link?  I was in rat shack today and they wanted $3.99 per button for those.  I walked without a button because the price was so high.

There are some good ones at twistedquarter.com that require a 1/2" hole.   I've used them as admin buttons or player select buttons on some of my builds.  Only $.99

My ebay ones came in today. Meh. They'll do unless the other ones I ordered are better. The play on the buttons is crazy. I mean, they're cheap, what do you expect? :)

Yeah they aren't top quality for sure -- I am using one for the on\off button on my bartop and it serves the purpose well and should work for your volume buttons (should work for buttons that don't see a lot of use such as admin buttons and the size makes them easy to fit in but wouldn't want to try gaming using them.

I think I'll use them as the TV buttons on the back of my PacMan cab. Maybe volume buttons if they are better then the ones coming from Germany.
Are those the ones for $.99 ea and ya think that they r good for Admin control?

The ones with the screw terminals are usually referred to as a "horn button" (common use, I guess).  They are designed to deal with a lot more current than the other type, hence the large terminals with reliable connections.

Yeah, I assumed just looking at it they were designed for heavier duty voltage and use.

I actually agree with you on that. The bezel seems too big (I like the bottom, though).
