my new cab in the italy zone :)
« on: November 05, 2013, 05:00:13 am »
Hello everyone, after the experience last year with the construction of a bartop that helped me to do some practice with wood and electrical connections, are now grappling with a real "upright." Loosely inspired by the various cab 80s, by Taito to Nintendo and also from the generic cab that were at the bar ...
I left 6mq of plywood 3/4in taken in woodworking in the house, I bought a dozen L-metal joints a lot of small screws, 2 fixed and 2 swivel wheels with brakes, each 110lbs capacity, is high with wheels including 69in , 25in wide and 30in deep, for questoni of practicality and "view" waive my dear old CRT monitor (which unfortunately tires me so much the view) and will opt for a less quality but more restful LCD. The design is classic here is a picture of the profile cut with an electric saw and a little bit with the jigsaw:

and here it is partially assembled:

obviously also insert the coin, I will keep you updated with more photos! :)

Here I am with some updating, I started working on the bridge, also built with plywood 3/4, made me swear a bit to create the home of 2 joysticks, however at the end everything went perfect, now a bit of putty and then when you get the PVC adhesive mounts, here is a bit of photos:

Hi congratulations for your work, I'm planning to build a full size cab as well but I don't know when I'll have enough spare time ....
Is it really plywood ? from the pictures it seems pine wood.
how did you put all together, screws, glue, etc ?
for the pvc, did you draw the sides yourself ? and where did you have them printed ?
thanks and keep us informed

è veramente compensato ? dalle foto sembra pino o abete o simili
hai usato colla e squadrette a L o solo le squadrette ?
hai fatto tu i disegni per gli adesivi o li hai presi da qualche parte ?
dove li fai stampare ? pixartprinting ?
grazie, ciao

Looks awesome.  Hope you stain it and make it look like a proper piece of furniture.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.
