Looks like
this simplemachines forum post covers Simple Machines Forum (SMF) and MediaWiki (MW) integration with a link
here to the needed files and directions.
The support topic is still active and includes a few minor fixes/patches needed to use the latest versions of MW.
This is probably the best bet for getting the wiki up and running, once we update MW to a more recent version.
- BYOAC currently uses 1.5.6
- Latest stable release is 1.20.5
I know Saint is busy for a while, but wanted to post this in case it is useful and to see if anyone had any other ideas on how to get the Wiki running again.

P.S. If we can't get that to work, the information below may help.
According to the BYOAC Wiki
Version page, the following software versions are being used:
MediaWiki: 1.5.6
PHP: 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.4 (cgi-fcgi)
MySQL: 5.5.24-0ubuntu0.12.04.1-log

While poking around on the MediaWiki page, I found
Extension:SMF Auth IntegrationThis extension integrates MediaWiki with SMF's members table. It has been tested on MediaWiki 1.11.1 through 1.12.0 and is compatible with SMF versions 1.1.x and 2.0.
If I'm reading that page right, we could upgrade MediaWiki and use this extension to handle Wiki logins.
Extension:SMF/Users Integration might also be useful.
links MediaWiki to SMF's user table for authentication, and disallows the creation of new accounts in MediaWiki. Users must then log in to the wiki with their SMF account.
