Locking a showcase CP?
« on: February 05, 2012, 09:54:16 pm »
I have a showcase with a custom built CP but no locks  :'(

My fear of installing locks similar to my old CP is if I mismeasure with the paddlebit/hole saw for the cam (too high or too low) I will be eff'd.

Does anyone have some jedi suggestions for closing up a showcase CP?

Thanks

You can use panel latches if you can access them via your coin door.

Electromagnet with hidden switch?

A small coil with a plunger being used as a lock pin?

just some thoughts off the top of my head.

Bondo carriage bolts into the underside of the top of the CP.  Drill through the bottom of CP box and bolt from the bottom.  Pics may give us a better idea of a legitamite solution.

If you wanna get really crazy you could install a servo to run a bolting arm from the inside then use an blue tooth presentaton clicker to trigger a AHK script calling the servo into the open or closed position.   ;D

Whatever you decide to use, it's gotta be some form of automation.  ;D

I don't have any locks on mine. The lid is so heavy, anyone trying to open it (especially kids) wouldn't have the leverage
due to thier height or the strength to do so.

You can also threaten lives to those who try to open up the lid to see the guts in all its glory.  ;)
