Question regarding Lucids Plans rev 7.

I have all my pieces cut and am being to assemble my cab based on Lucids design (the only change I made was to widen it to 28 inches, and make the control panel a little longer).

I am having a hard time visualizing the "support mechanism" that attachs to the cabinet bottom.

The instructions say "The kick plates and lower supports create a support frame for the base of the cabinet".  I do not however see how the math equals out (in terms of the sizes of the pieces).  I understand that the front and rear base plates are the width of the cabinet.  The lower supports however are only 32.5", while the depth of the cabinet at the bottom is 38".   Does the support frame go all the way back in the caibnet (ie, is the front the cabinet really supposed to hang 6.5"'s off the base (somewhere to put your feet I guess?)

Sorry if my description is a little lacking.  If you look at the plans you should see what im talking about.  Did anyone just skip the baseplate section of the plans? (ala version 6).  Thanks guys..

you put down the two pieces across the base and the other two fit in between them

I understand that part, thanks .  But after that, where do the side pieces attach, by that I mean, when everything is assembled, should the "real cab" part hang over the bottom supports?

Do you see what I am asking?  From the plans I gather that the overhang between the cab and the supports/baseplates is 6.5"'s , seems like alot dont it?

 Godsend It does look like it would be a little tipsy-turvy. If you are looking at the plans correctly and a 6" overlap is what they are implying  then personally I would revize those measurments a little.  In my opinion that much of an overlap would make for an unstable cabinet but Im sure Lusid has built more cabs than I have. Plans aren't written in stone. If you feel more comfortable building a wider platform than do so.

I haven't looked at lucids plans in a while...  but on my cabinet which is an old Taito cab... there's a simliar space where the wheels go for tipping and rolling the cabinet...

I suppose you could just  extend the bottom box if  you weren't going to install the wheels/rollers...

know what I mean??  

I might be wrong, but that's what came to mind when I saw the gap you mentioned...

The side supports, cabinet bottom and baseplates all fit in between the side panels.  This does create a space under the front of the cabinet, but the sides of the cabinet prevent it from tipping.

They're called kick panels BTW.  That's so your toes have somewhere to go when your standing next to the cabinet.  Only real point in using them is to prevent shoe scuffs on the front of the cabinet.
