Um, why is this a big deal?
« on: January 13, 2015, 02:00:47 pm »
This just came through my Facebook feed.  Warning - Reddit link

http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/2rzwd9/it_took_awhile_to_map_out_all_the_buttonscombos/

My confusion here is, other than having 6 buttons on player 3/4, what's the big deal?  He's got a trackball there obviously mapped as a mouse.  What more is needed to play Eve than a mouse?  I've played it before and don't really see the big deal.

Joysticks are on the wrong side.

WTF is Eve?  Need to Ask Jeeves about that I guess.

If I knew where he lived, I'd break in and replace the blue lightning with marble contact paper.

I can say that I don't like using the mouse on the control panel, but why is he, if he has a trackball?

eh, CP kinda resembles a starship bridge.  The blue lightning is from entering hyperspin; er...space.

I'm still trying to figure out what all the admin buttons are for.

judging by the pictures,  of the 15, 8 are likely to be coin and start buttons per player. 3 look like action buttons for the spinner (likely mouse 1,2 and 3 buttons) so that leaves 4. The standard pause, enter, quit, and ???

Probably a set of those SAVE/LOAD buttons people were so enamored with 10 years ago.

Or tab. Nothing like the keys to the kingdom right there on the vista.

If I ever build a cabinet for someone that turns out to be a giant assbag halfway through I'm mapping a tab button right onto the CP so they can self destruct in a matter of days.

Gotta map to a basic key combo so it isn't completely obvious either and unexpectedly pops up in the heat of a game.

Actually, I'll give him credit - they're not. You can tell from the wiring photos.
