MaLa hotkeys help
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:34:46 pm »
I just got my arcade cabinet all setup with MaLa and I'm having a hard time getting the "hotkeys" feature to work, assuming I understand what it's for.  It's to make it easier to press keys and key combinations that an emulator wants that you might not have setup on your control panel, ipac, etc., right?

For instance I don't have an "Esc" key setup on my control panel, and that's what VisualPinball is expecting to be pressed in order to exit.  So I use the hotkey option to route a key that I DO have mapped on my control panel, such as "P", to the Escape key when I'm running VisualPinball.  I'm assuming that's how it works.

I added a new hotkey for VisualPinball, and named it "QuitVPinball"
Then I selected the type as "Post"
Source key is set to "P"
Destination key is set to "Esc"

But it's not working.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Hotkeys won't work with some emulators.
I have the same issue with Future Pinball.

I haven't gotten around to trying them yet, but a wrapper or closemul might work.

Of course, it would be better to hear form someone who has actually solved the problem.  ???
(and could walk us through the solution)
