Trackball Lighting
« on: July 24, 2003, 11:29:37 am »
I got my package last night from Bob Roberts. I ordered a trackball lighting kit and a 3 in translucent red ball.

How do i go about hooking up these lights in my WICO 3 inch. I couldnt find any tutorials online or searching the forums.

MY guess is just drilling holes in the case and mounting the lights. Im just curious as to where the best place to mount them is and if i should wire both lights or just one. I also know that i have to run a power cable from my cpu but im not exactly sure how to do this.

Anyone got any insight?

Thanks.

My Happ trackball has a little hole in the bottom of the case that looks like it's for mounting lights in.  Yours have something like that too?

I'm building a custom PCB with a bank of bright white LEDs that will flicker around and make the trackball surface shimmer (will have a steady-on mode too).

My Wico trackball case has a hole directly under the trackball for light to go thru and a small screw hole about 1/4 inch away from the main hole.  I believe that this is to allow for the mounting of a single light.
