Ideas wanted for wiring up Aim Trak guns
« on: January 22, 2010, 03:44:33 pm »
Well I finally sucked it up and bought the Aim Trak hardware and decided to grab these guns off eBay. The guns showed up last night, I took a quick gander at them and threw them under my desk ....... didn't look too long at them. Anyway here's a picture and the buttons labled with arrows to show where there might be items not real visible in the picture.

So instead of having a hammer to reload with like my old guns these use the under method like a shotgun (labeled F).
The items marked B and C are switches while the other items are clearly buttons.
So the question for you guys is other than trigger, reload and for games like Terminator and Area 51 grenade launcher - are there any other useful things I could do with this gun?
I think the switches I just might yank out and fill in with plastic as I'm painting them anyway.
Yep - well aware of the Arcrylic Dye  ;)
Also - the guns have a directional pad - any uses for this anyone can think of?

Anyway let the ideas flow gents - thanks.

I have those same guns. The slide you have labeled "F" and the A button are the same. At least thats what I found out when I tried using the guncon2pc with them. I was wanting to use "F" as the reload as well. Hoping to order some AimTrak Gun Modules soon. Once I have the AimTrak Modules I'll worry about re-wiring them. Hope to see some good ideas in here!

I also want to get the vibration working on them too. Are you planning on do that Deadly?

you could use the directional D-pad for a enter exit start credit etc. but there not required.

some light gun games require a trigger and two buttons but most just have the trigger and a reload or gernade/rocket.

Uhhhh yes? lol
Seriously I didn't even know that was possible. So with that being said it appears these guns already have vibration in them (rumble pack I guess what ever terminology you want to use). I don;t understand how a person would hook this up to be usable? That part of it confuses me. Googling for info.

I dont have the same as you guys I have the lethal enforcer 2 western six shooters but you would need to wire the recoil/rumble in with a power source but also your trigger's ground so when you trigger turns on so does the rumble and when the trigger goes off so does the rumble/recoil.

me I would rather have a recoil if possible rather then a rumble/vibration motor like the operation wolf or t2 thump but that may be a little to much for a handheld  :lol

After some gameplay, I am thinking adding a coin and 1p start button to the gun would be nice. At the very least, have one of the lesser used buttons act as a coin up for it's secondary function when fired off screen. You could coin up a bunch of credits before you start your game, but it's annoying sometimes to keep stepping forward to hit the start button to continue.
