My bro-in-law bought a truckload of games from a dude in Maryland a few years ago. He thought he would make a boatload of money running an arcade. Well, its kind of hard to do that when you have no clue what you are doing and have no repair skills...

Some were dead from the get-go, and some died while in his place. Others are still working, and I just repaired 3 to fully working condition this weekend. Here is a list along with what I personally know about each from my own experience with them. He used to have a ton more, but has been selling them off here and there (without ever offering me first dibs...)

These 3 are in use inside his convenience store:
1. Bad Dudes (dedicated)- Pretty nice cabinet. I fixed it to fully working condition this weekend. Monitor is nice, but has minor burn.
2. Area 51 (in Xenophobe cabinet) - I fixed this to fully working this weekend. The gun cases are beat, but work fine. The monitor works fine, but needs a rebuild.
3. Virtua Fighter 3 - I replaced a busted joystick, and adjusted game settings this weekend. Game works great.

The rest of the games are in a shed. They are not directly exposed to weather - they are covered well by a roof. It had been snowing for the past week and there was no moisture on any of the machines. There front face of the shed is open though. Most games are 10 feet+ away from the opening.

4. Crowns Golf - Game works, but is on free play so he took it off the floor. I cannot verify anything other than that about this one because he didn't have the keys so I could fix/play it a year or so ago.
5. Final Lap 3 (dedicated upright 25" monitor) - game works, pretty nice shape. No keys, so I couldn't play it last time it was in the store.
6. Relief Pitcher (Bad Dudes cabinet) - game works fine, but I just stole a joystick off of it. I have not personally played it, but even my nephew confirmed it worked great (he wouldn't lie like his daddy )
7. Sega Ski Super G (60" projection model) - Allegedly works, condition is average (well worn) at best. I do remember seeing this one set up, but don't remember if it was on or not. Bro-in-law claims monitor worked great, and he was hoping to use it as a TV when his bar big screen conked out.
8. NFL Blitz (same cab as VF3) - This game worked great - I played it a few times and bro-in-law loved it. The monitor started going in and out. He wiggled a connector and it came back, but then went out and stayed out. It could just be wiring, but I suspect a flyback just to be on the safe side. I will get this one fixed if no one has bought it by Spring.
9. Outrunners - I think he said the monitors went out on this one when he moved it. I do remember one of the dashboard keys being broken off. Nephew also confirmed this one did work fine before monitors went out. I have never seen this one running.
10. Virtua Cop - Worked 100% fine until someone disconnected the guns. He didn't know how to reconnect them. I personally played this one through to the end.
11. Race Drivin' (environmental cockpit) - Appears to be complete. He says it never worked from day one - no sign of power at all. I have not had a chance to look at this one other than cosmetically and that only briefly.
12. CyberSled (2 player sit down) - Game allegedly worked fine, and then one of the monitors quit working. Nephew confirmed this story. Same with the Race Drivin', I've only looked at it twice.
13. Hang On - Coin door missing parts. I seem to remember him telling me this one worked, but something was wrong with the brake or something. This weekend, he merely said "it doesn't work".
14. Steel Gunner (dedicated) - During original transport, the monitor support failed and the 25" monitor crashed to the bottom of the cabinet onto the gameboard. It still sits in that shape. I only did a brief visual exam. The monitor frame was bent, but the neck appeared okay. I can't be for sure though, because I couldn't get a great view. The FS mirror was still intact, and the rest of the cabinet looked fine. Without a better inspection, I would assume the monitor and game board are toast.

So there you have them. I've told you everything I know about them. The only 3 I can guarantee are the first 3, as I personally inspected and fixed them on Saturday.

On to pricing. I've been trying to convince him he wasn't sitting on a gold mine for years. I don't give a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- what he paid, they aren't worth jack crap if they're in a shed and probably don't work. He has broken down and sold some of them for $100-$200. He sold a Roadblasters (That I wanted!!!) for $100 that worked great, but the CP wiring had been damaged when a kid yanked hard up on the CP.

He originally paid $200-$250 per standard game, a few hundo more each for the bigger machines, and paid almost $1k for the alpine ski (no, he did not consult me before buying any of these...dumbass). I explained to him how it works when someone makes a a bulk offer. He is aware of what would most likely be offered, and I would pretty much advise him to take any reasonable bulk offer.

These games are located in Hilldale, WV - local zip is 24981

There isn't anything better than family.  Especially the in-laws of all sorts!

Good luck with the sale.

I corrected the listing for Alpine Ski. The actual name of the machine is Sega Ski Super G.

On the cabinet, it is labeled Super Giant Slalom.

Added #14 - Steel Gunner. I totally forgot about that one since it wasn't in my pictures.
