First time builder with questions.
« on: January 05, 2010, 12:03:43 am »
Hi all,

I have some questions if anyone has a few minutes,  been going through the forums digging up as much info as I can,  but there's a few things I haven't found.  I have assembled a control panel before,  but I've never done one from scratch,  used a blank the last time.

Project:  My plan is to build a set of ~6 swappable control panel tops,  that would currently be mounted on a stand during use as I don't have room for a full cabinet yet.

Questions:

1.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lock the panel tops down?  I've seen them talked about,  and I've read about the modulars,  but not much on the swappable tops.  My current line of thinking is just some form of hinge setup with pins that pull in/out to secure the panel,  is there a better way?

2.  Would anyone know what diameter hole should be drilled for a 49-way joystick?  I found a list of sizes for joysticks and buttons,  but the 49-way isn't in there.

3.  I'm planning on using Novagems for the buttons,  but I'm a little confused on the interfaces.  Do I need an LEDWiz or an RGBdrive or both?

I think that's all of my questions right now,  thanks for your time!
