WINCAB Jukebox INI's for Mamewah
« on: December 30, 2009, 09:26:49 pm »
Anybody have some working ini's for Mamewah?

I have given up on freebox, cool features, but my arcade CRT monitor has issues with it, going back to the old stand by.

Thanks for your help.

Why have you given up on freebox? The mamewah freebox.ini shouldnt be any different than any other ini when being launched. Freebox is 99% a touchscreen program but is key mappable because there are users that have requested it.

I'll work on a mamewah.ini and post it here!

WinCab is nice, simple and FE-friendly in that it requires no wrappers as it starts from command-line and exits with escape by default. I'll upload my Wincab .ini for you and send you a link if you like or post it here if I find it later.

Fordman-

I just don't have the res to really make freebox work. I get the big album covers once the album is selected, but not the 170x170 covers and when the monitor is at 800 x 600 res, it jerks, I guess I will just keep the res at 640 x 480. Sucks, but there are limitation to keeping an authentic arcade cab!

Craig-

I appreciate your help. You have gotten me righted before. I actualy still have the dump back from April you gave me. Good stuff, that is where I got the Wincab idea.

I just can't figure our how to get Wincab to start within Mamewah. It works just fine if started in windows. This is why I was hoping to get an ini for Mamewah that works that I could copy. I also noticed that the skin within Mamewah for Jukebox is at 800 x 600, this may be what is causing the issues, since wincab is at 640 x 480. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

Happy New Year!

Mamewah launches PC games by launching a shortcut (.lnk) file. Create a shortcut within the Wincab folder, then point the  Mamewah .ini file to this shortcut. If you resize the Wincab skin to the size you need it should work fine, but be sure that you have set the default resolution etc. up within Wincab first.

All I did was assign a button to launch WinCab... so now I push a button under my cocktail CP and WinCab loads up... I exit WinCab and i'm back at MAMEWAH.

I also remember I created Arcade Music Box extractly with Mamewah in mind and its share very similar interface, but I discounted the software when I lost most of the source code (even I found most of it again, after created MultiJuke). Hence only bug I have heard is some sort of a volume bug, that can easy to been worked around. Arcade Music Box as well Wincab can use very low resolution as 320x240 (or 321x240 with arcadevga), so does not flicker. Extract like the excellent Wincab using its low resolution skin.

Wincab is also excellent for a arcade jukebox as well, sinces its can been 100% used by buttons.
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

Ok. It's been a month. Getting back to this issue.

Interesting to have a button que Wincab, not srue how you would direct it to do that.
