Not sure what you are looking for? To mount the joystick to the mounting plate. It only fits one way. The short sides of the mounting plate is on the top and bottom and the long sides are to the left and right.
To make it flushed, as I have seen it in other posts with pictures, take the router and and put it on top of the plate with the bit part over the edge of the plate or in the center hole. Have the bit drop to the wood, then tighten it. You have the thickness of the plate right there to route on the control panel.
From my understand is that the mounting plate has bolts already welded on so it can be tricky. Find something that has the same thickness as the mounting plate such as a notebook. Otherwise on a scrap board drill four holes for the bolts on the plate and put the plate on it then the router on the plate to set the bit.
However in another post, I also read that you have to remove the stick on the joystick to put the plate and lexan on then the stick in. It is very important to note the order of the pieces when you disassemble the stick.
