Ipac4 issue!!
« on: December 18, 2009, 06:24:28 pm »
I purchased and Ipac4 not to long ago and for awhile everything worked great out of the box.
But just recently I was using my arcade and the Player 1-left stoped working ?
I went into Winipac and tried to trouble shoot nothing was showing up for 1p-left went into notepad tried to see if it had a function nothing all other buttons worked. I counted the flashes on the ipac4 and it turned out to be 15 which is according to the chart on ultimarc website leads right to 1-player left .. I also took a volt meter to the ipac and all inputs were giving 4volts average and 1 player left was showing just under 2 ?????
Is this a faulty ipac or what could my problem be ?

Check your wiring.  Make sure nothing has come loose, it's still grounded properly, etc.

Player one joystick is a sanwa jlf ... so it has a wiring harness with a ground in it .. all other inputs up down right work on the joystick just not left ..
all my other grounds seem to be intact and good

It could be the microswitch on the JLF.

The JLF has four micros soldered onto the board so you can't easily swap one out for testing.

I would suggest getting a small piece of wire and touching the ground terminal on the ipac and the player one left terminal on the IPAC. If that works then you know the problem is not with the IPAC.

Are you running a 4 player cab?  If you only have a 2 player setup and you're jonesin' for some arcade action over the holidays, perhaps you'll want to rewire the 1P wires to 3P or 4P on the IPAC4 and set it up accordingly in Winipac.

Just a suggestion.  Good luck.

We are on holiday but still answering emails, not sure why you got the delay message. Hope there is no problem with our email.

Any input can be mapped to any keycode, so you could use any spare input.
